Sneakers That Talk to Your iPod

Nike and Apple have unveiled a wireless system allowing Nike+ footwear to deliver information on time, distance, calories burned, and pace directly to an iPod nano. This exercise data is transmitted to the runner during a workout and can be later uploaded to the NikePlus website, which also features “virtual race” challenges and iMixes chosen by athletes. Also in the works for Apple is the iPod Sport, an MP3 player with a built-in accelerometer to select and play music depending on the speed of exercise.
