Snoop Writes B-Double-O-K

Snoop Dogg: coming soon to your local Barnes & Nobizzle.

After successfully launching lines of dog accessories and hot dogs, and coaching a football team, Snoop Dogg has set his sights on the literary world: Atira Books is set to publish the Doggfather’s debut novel, Love Don’t Live Here No More, in October.

The tome, whose title is a variation on the Madonna-popularized song, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore,” centers on a young man living a rough life in southern California, trying to make it in the world of hip-hop, according to Billboard.com. The book is set to be the first in a series of street-lit novels Snoop hopes to release.

“Snoop, by nature of what he does, is a storyteller,” Kathleen Schmidt, vice president of Atria Books, said, according to the site. “Books speak more to a female audience than does his music so these novels give him an opportunity to show, particularly his female fans, another side.”

You mean “For All My Niggaz & Bitches” wasn’t intended for the ladies, after all?
