Jurassic 5, Madlib to Play Benefit Show

Strap on that Jansport: Backpack rappers like Jurassic 5 and Dilated Peoples have signed on to perform at a major benefit concert in late May.

MC Supernatural, the Beat Junkies, Madlib, Money Mark and MF Doom will also take the stage on May 25 at Los Angeles’ Mayan Theatre, with proceeds benefiting DJ Shadow’s art director, Keith Tamashiro, who is recovering from a near-fatal brain aneurysm.

Shadow is also set to perform at the event, marking his first live show in nearly four years. Cut Chemist will take the stage alongside Shadow to spin tracks off their 1999 collaborative album, Brainfreeze, according to Billboard.com.

Shadow is currently working on The Private Press, his first album in four years.
