Ex-Jane’s Members Back as Panic Channel

Do we smell a new trend in band names? First came the wolves (Wolfmother, Wolf Parade), then the horses (Band of Horses, They Shoot Horses Don’t They), and now it’s all about the panic.

Former Jane’s Addiction members Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins, along with bassist Chris Chaney, have jumped on the panic bandwagon (Panic! at the Disco) forming The Panic Channel.

“If there was a channel that showed nothing but hysteria and panic, it would be the highest-rated channel on TV,” guitarist Navarro said in a statement. “We like to think of creating music as a way to channel the panic into something tangible.”

And while their debut album, (ONe), won’t be released until September 12, the band is preparing to take off on a spring tour to give listeners a taste of their new sound.

The panic will reach a boiling point on May 16 when the band kicks off its first ever tour in San Diego. They’ll spread the panic to cities including Dallas, New York, Boston, and Detroit before finishing up on June 7 in Los Angeles.
