Courtney Shares Nirvana Rights

After many well-publicized battles over ownership of the Nirvana back catalogue, Courtney Love has decided to sell a share of her rights.

“I have decided that I need some co-management and a strategic partner [to help me], as it’s such a huge responsibility,” Love told NME while in London last week. “This is the right thing to do for my family.”

While in town the embattled singer, who is currently working on a new album with the help of Linda Perry, told the Sunday Mirror that she is considering selling “25 percent of the catalogue for quite a lot of money.”

Love, who also told the publication that she was in town to secure a record deal, prepare ready for a role in a play in the West End of London, and discuss plans for a TV documentary, insisted that the most important qualification for this co-manager is that they get along with her.

“Whoever I do this with, I really have to like,” she said.
