Marilyn Manson is trying to drum up the funds to support a biopic of Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll, NME.com reports. Back in October, SPIN.com reported on Manson’s filmic intentions (read more).
Manson has already written the project, currently called Phantasmagoria — The Visions Of Lewis Carroll, and he also plans to star as the title character and to direct the film. Manson plans to attend the European Film Market during the Berlin Film Festival next week to raise the $4.2 million needed to produce Phantasmagoria. “What people expect from Manson, they’re going to get here,” the film’s producer, Alain de la Mata, says. De la Mata added that he hopes the film will be completed by Fall 2006.
