Manson Seeks Jolie for Lewis Carroll Film

Angelina Jolie’s vial-of-blood-toting days are long gone, but she may take a detour back into goth territory with a role in Marilyn Manson’s project, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.

Manson appeared at the Berlin International Film Festival yesterday to raise interest and funds for Phantasmagoria , a film he has written about the elusive British author who penned Alice in Wonderland. Manson told festival attendees that he has discussed the project with Angelina Jolie, but added that they are not currently in negotiations, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I want to make a psychological horror film that is unlike the kind we see today,” Manson said. “I am more interested in making the kind of traditional horror that inspired what we see today.”

In Berlin, Manson, who will compose the film’s score and play the role of Carroll, screened a teaser and announced that U.K. supermodel Lily Cole will play the role of Alice. The film is set to begin shooting this summer.
