Since its inception fourteen years ago, the Noise Pop Festival has evolved from five bands in a dingy, dying rock club to a five-day bender boasting Feist, Two Gallants, the National, Rogue Wave, We Are Scientists, and many other acts. While past festivals have been in late February, this year’s Noise Pop runs March 28 to April 2. In addition to rockin’ shows, Noise Pop also sponsors a film festival and events that, according to a press release, “intertwine San Francisco’s thriving literary and musical cultures.” Let’s hope that means an onstage poetry slam between McSweeney’s Dave Eggers and the lovely Feist.
