Jack White’s Raconteurs Ready First Single

Jack White is used to having a partner in crime in sister Meg, which explains why Jack’s new super-group, the Raconteurs, has duel frontmen and songwriters. White joins Brendan Benson in front of the Raconteurs, and the duo is backed by the rhythm section of Greenhornes Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler. The band will release their first single “Steady as She Goes”/”Store Bought Bones,” on January 30 in the U.K., NME.com reports. The single is limited to 1,000 copies, so expect a lot of jostling in the record store queue. According to the Raconteurs’ label site, XL Recordings, Jack says, “It’s a whole new band — a dual attack with dual guitars, dual vocals, and dual songwriting.” The Raconteurs plan to tour later on in 2006.
