Snow Patrol Back in the Studio

Snow Patrol is back in the studio recording their first new material since 2004’s Final Straw (which is now looking like the not-so-final straw). “The six of us — us five plus the man whose brain is so full of ideas they sometimes spill out like molten genius tourettes [sic], [producer] Garret Lee — all were bundled into Berkley rehearsal room in Glasgow to get together what turned out to be thirty songs written by Paul, Nathan, and myself,” lead singer Gary Lightbody posted last week on the band’s website. The new album will be called Eyes Open and Snow Patrol is looking at an April release date. Lightbody described the new songs as darker thematically than Snow Patrol’s earlier work. For the rabid Snow Patrol fans out there, the band is releasing an EP tomorrow called Live and Acoustic at Park Ave.
