Stones Ready for Some (American) Football

In what is certain to be a nipple-tingling performance, the Rolling Stones will take the field in Detroit on Feb. 2 during halftime of Super Bowl XL. The decision to have these rock legends as the night’s entertainment is no surprise considering the NFL has been using video and music footage from the band’s tour and latest album, A Bigger Bang, to promote Monday Night Football on ABC, which will also air the big game. “We are thrilled to perform for millions of fans at one of the most exciting and highly anticipated sporting events of the year,” the Stones said in a statement.
