Noel Gallagher has never subscribed to the maxim “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” It’s no surprise to hear him blasting fellow countrymen Bloc Party in a recent interview with an Australian radio station, NME.com reports. “Let’s call it what it is,” Noel said on Aussie radio station Triple J. “It’s indie shit, is what it is.” He tempered his statement later on: “Don’t get me wrong. I kinda like Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs [but] Bloc Party are just appalling…it’s just indie rubbish.” Noel better watch his back. The last time someone said something bad about Bloc Party, they got punched in the nose. As SPIN.com reported earlier this year, Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke slapped Art Brut lead singer Eddie Argos after Argos made some disparaging remarks about the Bloc. Okereke should take a lesson from Argos: “If I went around punching everyone who didn’t like my band, I’d be a very tired man,” Argos told SPIN.com.
