Elvis Costello Plans Symphony Tour

Elvis Costello is launching a full tour to perform his first classical composition, Il Sogno, with major U.S. symphonies In 2000, Costello took a respite from rocking out to pen Il Sogno (Italian for “A Dream”), a score to an Italian ballet based on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The first half of the show will feature Il Sogno‘s three acts, then, after an intermission, Costello will take the stage solo to play some of his classics. Costello’s most recent album, The Delivery Man, came out in 2004. The tour will kick off in March 2006 in San Francisco with the San Francisco Symphony.
