Bowie/Arcade Fire Track to Benefit Katrina Victims

Two months ago it was the performance that rocked the blogosphere: The Arcade Fire teamed up with David Bowie to perform “Wake Up” at Fashion Rocks in New York to an audience of waifs and waif-worshippers. Next week, it’ll be the performance that rocks the iTunes store. On November 15, the live version of “Wake Up” will be available for sale via iTunes, reports David Bowie’s official website. “Wake Up” will be appear on a digital EP that also includes Bowie’s duet with Mike Garson from the same Fashion Rocks show and a live version of Bowie’s “Five Years” from an impromptu BBC radio performance. All proceeds from the EP will go to Hurricane Katrina victims. The Arcade Fire will open for U2 later this month in Ottawa and Montreal.
