Raveonettes’ Gear Stolen in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, New York might be gentrification station, but musicians still need to lock up their gear: For the second time in as many months, big name bands have had a bunch of equipment ripped off. SPIN.com reported about the heist of the Brian Jonestown Massacre’s gear in September (read more) and now the Raveonettes have a similar sob story after their gear was lifted outside a gig at Brooklyn’s Warsaw. “We are completely devastated,” wrote Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo on the band’s site. Four items in particular were particularly terrible losses for the band, according to their website post: a 1967 Gretsch Chet Atkins guitar (orange), a Fender Jazzmaster Guitar (sunburst), a 1974 Fender Precision Bass guitar, and a 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass guitar. If you have any info on the whereabouts of the Raveonettes’ equipment, email the band at [email protected]. Or if you’re the member of a Brooklyn gang of guitar-stealing bandits, watch out; the Raveonettes know a thing or two about getting the cops on your tail.
