Dylan Visits North Country
The new Charlize Theron film, North Country, not only has an all-star cast and a social agenda, but it also has an impressive soundtrack: Bob Dylan contributes an original song for the film called “Tell Ol’ Bill.” Other Dylan classics like “Sweetheart Like You,” and “Lay, Lady Lay” are featured in North Country, which is based on a true story of sexual harassment in Minnesota iron mines. According to the film’s website, the soundtrack also features songs from Cat Power and Warren Zevon, plus an original score by Gustavo Santaolalla, whose work has also appeared in other gritty, realistic films like The Motorcycle Diaries and 21 Grams. The soundtrack to North Country is out now.
