Bomb Threat Halts Rolling Stones in Va.

Fear is running high these days: First there is the amped up security on the New York City subways, and then there is a bomb scare at a Rolling Stones concert. According to MTV News, officials at the University of Virginia received a bomb threat involving the stage at UVA’s Scott Stadium. There were 50,000 fans in attendance when the threat was received, and police cleared the first 20 rows of the concert venue. Bomb sniffing dogs were brought in, but all was declared safe after a 45-minute interruption. The Richmond Times Dispatch described Mick Jagger returning to the stage calmly after the threat. Mick probably wasn’t too worried because he knows that he and Keith Richards could survive a nuclear winter. It’ll be the Stones and the cockroaches.
