Blur EP Might Surface in 2005

Turns out the public may get a taste of the new Blur material before the year is out. “I think we’re going to do an EP first, sometime by the end of this year,” lead singer Damon Albarn told UK radio station XFM. Albarn reiterated the musical simplicity of the new Blur songs, saying, “I can’t really make another Blur record that’s a big landscape sort of thing, due to my very basic guitar ability.” Precisely when the new work will debut is a mystery. Albarn says, “You probably won’t know about it. It’ll just ‘come out.’ It’ll be so, sort of, underplayed. It’ll come out but you won’t know it’s us as it’ll be so, well, not us.” Ah, the elliptical statements of a true artist.
