Rockers Unite to Honor London Victims

Billy Bragg and former Madness lead singer Suggs are the first artists confirmed to play a free festival called London United at Burgess Park on July 16. According to NME.com, the festival purports to show London’s “defiance of those who try to change the character of the city through terror.” London Mayor Ken Livingstone is behind preparations for the event. Ex-Pulp member Jarvis Cocker and St. Etienne have vocalized their support for London United, though they are not confirmed as performers.

Update, 7/14: Goldie Lookin Chain, Lemar, Kano, The Mitchell Brothers, Raghav, Terri Walker, and Heather Small join Billy Bragg and Suggs for Saturday’s London United Festival, which will run from noon to 8:30 P.M. in London’s Burgess Park.
