Dallas Mayor Denounces Erykah Badu's Naked Video

Public officials in Erykah Badu's hometown of Dallas are less than pleased with the R&B songstress, thanks to her new music video for "Window Seat." The clip -- which was all over the net earlier this week, but now runs exclusively on her official site -- shows Badu stripping in downtown Dallas' Dealey Plaza before she lays down naked on the spot of John F. Kennedy's 1963 assassination. Now, Dallas' mayor pro tem is hoping the city council will draft legislation to ensure more specific punishments are outlined for future acts of public indecency. "None of this would have occurred had she stayed clothed," Dwaine Caraway told the Dallas Morning News.

LISTEN: My Morning Jacket Honors Shel Silverstein

While many know the late Shel Silverstein as an author of classic children's books like The Giving Tree and Where the Sidewalk Ends, he also moonlighted as a country singer-songwriter. Hear one of My Morning Jacket's two contributions below! The album takes its title from of one of Silverstein's quirky poems about a particularly bendy man -- Andrew Bird was given the honor of adapting the poem into a song -- and features songs penned by Silverstein himself, some of which were originally made famous by other artists.

WATCH: Green Day's "American Girls" Video

Judging by their new video, you wouldn't know that it's Green Day's 2004 album American Idiot that's about to become a Broadway musical, not last year's 21st Century Breakdown. The clip for 21st Century song "The Last of the American Girls" is super catchy and packed with plenty of set-for-the-stage imagery. Watch it below. Directed by frequent Green Day collaborator Marc Webb, the clip follows a day in the life of a girl played by Lisa Stelly (you might remember her from Green Day's video for "21 Guns"). While the band jams out nearby, our protagonist wanders about in a desert landscape that's set up with furniture, like an apartment without walls.

FREE MP3: New Song from the National

The release of the National's new album, High Violet, is still six weeks away, but the Brooklyn-via-Cincinnati quintet are offering up a free download "Bloodbuzz Ohio" as a preview to fans. Download the song here. The track features large, sweeping layers of piano, drums, and guitar laid beneath singer Matt Berninger's smooth, melancholy baritone. "I still owe money to the money to the money I owe / I never thought about love / When I thought about home," he sings, making this song something of a downer -- but, as is usually the case with this band, it's a gripping and gorgeous one. The band has been busy prepping for High Violet's May 11 release, appearingearlier this month on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to debut "Terrible Love." Later that same week, the guys played a two intimate gigs at the Bell House in Brooklyn, where they unveiled even more music off High Violet.
