Watch: Pearl Jam Play with Rolling Stone

During Pearl Jam's gig at London's Shepherds Bush Empire Tuesday night, the Seattle alt-rockers treated 2000 lucky fans to a pair of surprises: a brand new acoustic song and a cameo from Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, who joined the five-piece onstage for a rousing rendition of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower." Watch below! The intimate concert -- a warm-up for the band's first European jaunt in two years -- saw frontman Eddie Vedder take the stage solo with an acoustic guitar during the encore to play "The End," the final tune on the band's upcoming album Backspacer (out Sept. 20). Earlier, Wood joined the full band for "All Along the Watchtower," channeling Jimi Hendrix's famous version of the tune as he traded guitar solos with Mike McCready. The band will support Backspacer with a full U.S.

    Watch: Them Crooked Vultures' Video

Sick of trolling YouTube for yet another shaky cell phone video from the Them Crooked Vultures secret show on Sunday in Chicago?Well the Dave Grohl-Josh Homme-John Paul Jones supergroup has finally released a studio recording -- but, sadly, it's agonizingly short. The 14-second YouTube clip of "Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I" sounds mostly like Led Zeppelin, and the artwork aesthetic recalls Queens of the Stone Age's early noir videos, like "Go With the Flow." Elton John Guests on New Alice in Chains Album

Elton John's list of unexpected collaborations just got a lot stranger. In recent years he's recorded a Christmas tune with the Killers and teamed with gay-bashing rapper Eminem -- and now the piano man has joined forces with Seattle grunge rockers Alice in Chains! The unlikely pairing comes on the title track for Alice's upcoming album Black Gives Way to Blue, which pays homage to the band's late singer Layne Staley who died in 2002 from a drug overdose. The song's emotional message moved the piano man to join the effort. "We were thinking about adding piano to the track and a friend suggested we call Elton," guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell said in a statement. "I remember laughing and saying, 'Yeah, I'll get right on that.' But I decided it was worth trying and wrote Elton an email explaining what that song means to us -- that it's a real, raw openhearted song for Layne.

Watch: No Doubt's Young Jams Backstage

Remember when you were a kid how cool it sounded to run a stick along a fence?Remember the satisfying crash of whacking a dumpster or trash can (metal, of course) just for the hell of it?California's Street Drum Corps certainly do, and they recently got together with No Doubt drummer Adrian Young to remind us all of the innocent pleasures of hitting stuff. This SPIN.com exclusive video comes from the parking lot behind L.A.'s Gibson Amphitheatre before a recent stop on No Doubt's massive tour. Before Young manned his conventional drum kit in front of thousands of fans, he teamed with SDC to gather oil drums, metal piping, and other backstage junk for an impromptu percussion jam.He joined the Corps -- yes, they make a living doing this -- for a few minutes of rhythmic pounding. The results sound incredible, showing why the Corps have been invited to play with Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, and

Basement Jaxx Prep Guest-Heavy Fifth Album

What do Santigold, Yoko Ono, and Kelis (of "Milkshake" fame) have in common? All appear on Scars, the new album by pioneering dance duo Basement Jaxx, out October 6. The disc's thirteen tracks also feature vocal contributions from Lightspeed Champion, Eli "Paperboy" Reed, Yo! Majesty, and more.Basement Jaxx recruited the who's-who of singers to help return to a more classic club sound after coming away from their last album, 2006's Crazy Itch Radio, disillusioned. "It felt like we'd strayed too far into pop territory," Simon Ratcliffe explained. So the DJ duo laid low for a few years, concentrating on making the new album instantly recognizable to Jaxx fans."Scars is very much back to the kind of thing we used to do," said Felix Buxton. A first taste of their return-to-roots efforts comes in lead single "Raindrops" -- watch its video below. Warning: Totally not safe for work!

    Hot New Band: Golden Bloom

Back in January, we featured Golden Bloom as part of our popular Undiscovered Bands Worth a Listen series, and loved their Summerteeth-era Wilco vibe. Now, we've got an exclusive taste of the band's forthcoming debut album -- download the song "If You Believe" below! Though the band features other members in live shows, Golden Bloom is primarily the brainchild Shawn Fogel, who plays every instrument on Fan the Flames, due August 18."Every instrument" doesn't just mean guitar/bass/drums either -- Fogel unleashes some top-notch synthesizer and tenor sax as well. Both are featured on "If You Believe," a sunny slice of Americana-tinged rock'n'roll -- kissed with flourishes of horns and xylophone. And it's not just an upbeat sounding song: "You never know where you're going to find love," Fogel sings.
