Radiohead's Thom Yorke Releases 2 Solo Songs

Radiohead may never release another full-length album, but that certainly isn't stopping frontman Thom Yorke from dropping plenty of new material. On his band's website Thursday, the singer announced the release of two solo tunes, available September 21 as free digital downloads and on 12" vinyl. Yorke describes one song, "FeelingPulledApartbyHorses" (watch a video of him playing the cut in 2005 below), as "an old tune thats been kicking around without a home since 2001," recorded with the help of Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood.

Jay-Z at Work on 'Experimental' Album

The Blueprint 3 hasn't even hit shelves yet -- wait 'til next Friday for that -- but Jay-Z is already hard at work on his next album, which he calls his "most experimental."He gave MTV News a first hint at what he's planning. "My next album, which I'm working on now...is not gonna be a #1 album," he said. "That's where I'm at right now. I wanna make the most experimental album I ever made." One clue: The Jigga Man has been spotted watching indie bands like Grizzly Bear at hipster Brooklyn hangouts. "I've always said I believe in good music and bad music," he said."The second Blueprint, the reason it was all over the place is because I like music so much. You have tracks with Lenny Kravitz then Sean Paul. Dr. Dre. It's all over the place because of my taste in music." Until Jay-Z makes that next out-of-the-box record, fans can click here to stream The Blueprint 3 right now.

REPORT: DJ AM "Wanted to Die"

DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldstein, had eight undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach, and a ninth in his mouth, when police discovered his body August 28 in New York City, a law enforcement source told People. This finding suggests he swallowed the pills quickly in a possible suicide attempt. "He wanted to die," said the source. "He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn't even swallow it." As previously reported, a crack pipe and bag of crack cocaine were discovered on Goldstein's lifeless body. According to People's source, the DJ had barricaded himself in his apartment, blocking the doors with mirrors, before his death. When police forced entry they found a Valentine's Day card from his ex-girlfriend, model Hayley Wood, surrounded by six pictures of Wood and AM together.

    LISTEN: Jay-Z's 'Blueprint 3' Leaks!

Monday, when Jay-Z's highly anticipated Blueprint 3 leaked more than a week before its September 11 release date, the Brooklyn rapper didn't respond by threatening fans or suing bloggers. Instead, he put the whole thing up on MTV's website to let all his fans hear it... legally! "I'm excited for people to hear the album," Jay told MTV News. "I'm very proud of the work I've done, so enjoy it." Summer hits "D.O.A. (Death of AutoTune)" and "Run This Town" anchor the album's 15-song tracklist, which includes previously unheard tracks featuring Alicia Keys, Kid Cudi, and Empire of the Sun. Releasing the album online now, Jay said, gives him some early insight into fan reactions. "I can tell by the way my pager rings if a song is good or not," he told MTV. "It's really going crazy right now." Click here to listen to the full album!

Maynard James Keenan Announces Puscifer Tour

Tool has been blowing minds all summer at festivals like All Points West and Lollapalooza, but there's little rest in store for frontman Maynard James Keenan: He'll be taking his Tool side project Puscifer out on the road starting this October. The tour will be Keenan's first with Puscifer, after debuting a stage version of the band this past February in Las Vegas. "We are compelled beyond all reason to bring the noise and share our special sauce," Keenan posted in an announcement on the group's website."Although authorities suggest you be prepared for any and all possibilities, we simply suggest you arrive happy and hungry." The hardcore proggers will bring their oddball chaos to 11 Western cities this fall with the promise of cuts from last year's "V" Is for Vagina and, as Keenan hinted on Twitter back in May, maybe some new tunes.
