See Arcade Fire Perform New Song, 'Crucified Again'

Arcade Fire haven't confirmed those rumors about a new album in 2013, but fan footage of the suburban rockers performing a churchy new song portends something on the horizon. Reportedly called "Crucified Again," Win Butler and co. first debuted the slow-burning lullabye at a Haiti benefit back in March, but dusted it off last Thursday night (October 4) at a Partners in Health event at Guastavino's restaurant in New York City. This one sounds like an outtake from 2007's Neon Bible, and would've fit right in on that LP given its religious imagery. Flush with organ and that piercing violin whine, the track builds to a fine crescendo, customary to the band's album-ending tracks. So maybe Arcade Fire are teasing the future release feet-first? Get a listen above.

Green Day Make No Trouble in 'Troublemaker' Video

Call it false advertising, but Green Day are on their best behavior in the video for their latest Uno! single "Troublemaker." Filmed before Billie Joe Armstrong's dramatic onstage freakout landed him in rehab last month, the visual splices footage the boys recording the clappy, pop-punk track with straight-forward concert shots. It's all so off-puttingly mild mannered for a band who blazed a trail powered by bratty, frenetic energy. But hey, everyone has to grow up sometime.

New Kelly Clarkson Single Due Ahead of Greatest Hits Album

Long before American Idol resorted to throwing two women in a steel cage to get people to care, the FOX singing competition made a real go of cultivating viable pop stars. The show's most enduring success has been prolific cover artist Kelly Clarkson, who, if you can believe it, will celebrate 10 years of chart domination with her first (but expectedly not her last) greatest hits album next month.

Hear Adele's 'Skyfall' James Bond Theme In Full 007 Glory

Adele's much ballyhooed James Bond theme, "Skyfall," has proven more elusive than 007 himself. After artfully dodging for weeks speculation that she'd sing the track at all, Adele barely confirmed the project by TwitPic before a snippet appeared and then vanished online last week. Then ahead of "Skyfall"'s official global debut Friday (October 5) at 0:07 GMT, a rip of its French radio premiere leaked, but alas, the world was not enough for that one either. But we have it here now! Part "Yesterday," part "Dream On," and very obviously all Bond theme, the dramatic string-puller is about the end of the world. "This is the end / hold your breath and count to 10 / Feel the earth move and then / feel my heart burst again," she sings over the 77-piece orchestra. Adele turns in a fairly reserved vocal most of the way through, saving the big lung-push for the very last moments.

The Weeknd Pens Open Letter to Fans, Hints at New Material

The Weeknd's Abe Tesfaye is the latest musician to have feelings so powerful they could only be expressed through a letter to fans, instead of through, um, music. In three long paragraphs, posted as an all-caps image on his official blog Thursday (October 4), the "man of few words" sort of apologizes for taking major-label money — a step he feels necessary to "evolve as an artist" — and promises to "never make [fans] wait again." He later hints that new material is on the way, leading up to the bundled physical release of his three 2011 mixtapes. The letter follows the debut of his stark "Rolling Stone" video yesterday, which he further explained represented the two worlds his career straddles: the mainstream and the underground.

Watch Karen O's Slimy 'Strange Love' Lyric Video

Karen O composed a poppy little calypso ballad called "Strange Love" for Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, and of course its lyric video stars the film's gruesomely adorable stop-motion animation characters. Beyond that, there's not much new to see here. A few clips from the trailer get spliced in, and the slimy green lyrics ooze in and out, so listeners are left to home in on just how much the frontwoman cribbed from Mikey & Sylvia's single "Love is Strange," as made famous by Dirty Dancing. (Yeah, yeah, yeah, we said it.) That one's included below for your comparative exploration.

Rick Ross and T.I. Confront Mortality in 'Bury Me a G' Video

Maybach Music Group head Rick Ross lays out his last will and testament in the Self Made Vol. 2 track "Bury Me A G," which just got an OG rappers-on-the-stoop visual treatment. Directed by DRE Frilms and Jon J., the clip is dedicated to Ross' rap associate Raymond "PNut" Adderly, who was murdered in Florida in 2010 during a home invasion. It's a somber occasion, so Ross has removed his signature sunglasses for a few shots. Footage of hearses, caskets, and a funeral procession fill in the gaps. The song borrows little from Tupac Shakur's '94 trailblazer of the same name (and even less from the 2006 version by Ross' alleged BET Hip Hop Awards nemesis, Young Jeezy), but the #thuglife sentiment remains the same. When Rozay goes, put him in "clean drawers" and lay him next to his "dawgs." Grand Hustle boss T.I. offers a short verse before the heavy hook brings 'er home.

Watch The Weeknd's Stark and Stirring 'Rolling Stone' Video

The Weeknd's Abel Tesfaye stars in and directs the video for "Rolling Stone," a stark and stirring portrait session in black and white. The concept is simple: Tesfaye sings as the camera zooms out from close-up. Sometimes a women stands behind him, sometimes her arms are intimately circled around his neck. Sometimes flashbulbs fire. But by the clip's end, Tesfaye is alone and the camera blurs to gray. The official Weeknd Twitter account explained it this way: "she represents the fans who i lose when i hit the mainstream...""Rolling Stone" is off Thursday, one of the three Weeknd mixtapes he released last year — the mixtapes that crossed him over. Universal Republic is bundling the trio, including House of Balloons and Echoes of Silence, as Trilogy, dropping November 26.

Billy Corgan Sued For Smashing ... Tree

Today is not the greatest day Billy Corgan's ever known. The Smashing Pumpkins founder is being hauled to court after a eucalyptus tree on Corgan's Beverly Hills property collapsed during a storm onto the home of his famous neighbors Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayhart, TMZ reports. Gayhart — who was pregnant when the crash happened last year — was nearly killed as she dodged live wires to evacuate her flooding home, documents filed at L.A. County Superior Court allege.Corgan called the situation unfortunate, saying Dane and Gayhart are "nice people." He further explained to TMZ, "I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling during what was a massive storm, a storm with winds strong enough to uproot a 50 ft tree by its base! Thankfully no one was injured."The couple say Corgan had been warned about the tree, but he failed to be proactive in its removal.

Smashing Pumpkins Plan Massive 'Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness' Reissue

The Smashing Pumpkins Diamond-certified landmark album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness will see its first deluxe edition reissue this December in "painstakingly" remastered glory by Bob Ludwig. In 1995, Ann Powers, for SPIN, ruled the double-disc opus "a garden that's very lush" — and 17 years later, what fruits that garden has grown! The Mellon Collie re-release will come in various permutations, but the prize here is the 5CD/DVD deluxe box set, which holds 64 bonus tracks (106 physical, 92 digital); a DVD of the Pumpkins' 1996 Brixton Academy performance in London with bonus footage from German TV show Rockpalast; a 12x12 lift-top box with velvet-lined disc-holder; two books of notes, lyrics, and artwork; and ... a Decoupage kit? What? Did all those Pumpkin heads grow up to be crafters?
