Listen: Jay-Z Premieres New Song "D.O.A"

We've been advised that Jay-Z's new album is officially on its way. And we've been told (by Kanye, no less) that it's "anti-Auto-Tune". But Friday night, New York radio station Hot 97 had the honor of offering proof when it premiered Jay's new song "D.O.A." or "The Death of Auto-Tune." "This is anti-Auto-Tune, death of the ringtone," Jay begins, rapping over a track produced by No I.D. with jazz horns wailing in the background. "My raps don't have melodies," he continues. "This ain't a No. 1 record, this is practically assault with a deadly weapon." Later Friday night, the man himself called into Hot 97 to explain his lyrical assault on Auto-Tune. "The guys who did it, did it great," he said, going on to list T-Pain, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne as examples before suggesting that perhaps they too should steer clear of the voice-enhancement technology.

Blink-182 to Play "Heavy" New Songs on Tour

When SPIN.com caught up with Mark Hoppus recently, the Blink-182 bassist/vocalist said the reunited band plans to play new material on their star-studded summer tour. And now drummer Travis Barker has come forward to detail the new songs -- which, he says, are "heavy"! According to Barker, Blink has four demos in progress -- one of which is "nearly complete" and will be road-tested on the summer outing [via MTV.com]. That new song is called "Up All Night," and Barker described it as "a logical step" from where the band left off [with their self-titled 2003 album]. "In the case of 'Up All Night,' it feels like it could've been on the last record, or right where the last one left off. It's kind of heavy, if you mixed Box Car Racer and Blink. It all makes sense.

Pete Doherty In Airplane Drug Bust

Pete Doherty has been recently touted as clean and sober, but reports from those onboard a recent British Airways flight to Geneva seem to tell a different story. The Babyshambles singer was detained when his flight landed at Geneva on Friday after cabin staff found him slumped in a toilet. "A few people on the plane recognized Pete and he went to the bathroom more than halfway into the flight," a passenger told UK paper The Sunday Mail. ??"He had been in there for about 25 minutes when the announcement came for the crew to prepare the flight for landing." But rather than return to his seat, Doherty elected to stay put.? "The crew knocked on the door but Pete didn't come out.?

Eminem Confesses: I Was In On the MTV Prank

Oh, MTV. Nobody beats you in scripting reality TV. Eminem's onstage encounter with Sacha Baron Cohen that's had everyone talking since MTV's Movie Awards was about as legit as the "surprise appearance" by The Hills' Lauren Conrad at Heidi and Spencer's wedding. First came the post on Tumblr where Movie Awards head writer Scott Aukerman admitted the incident was staged. The post was subsequently removed, but now the rapper himself has officially settled the matter. "Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards.I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag," Eminem told RapRadar. "I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going 'nuts' so to speak.

    Watch: MGMT's New "Kids" Video

MGMT's new music video for their now ubiquitous tune "Kids" features an adorable little boy and a crew of monsters -- it's basically the Where the Wild Things Are equivalent of psych-pop videos. Watch below. The mini-masterpiece (directed over the past year by band pal Ray Tintori) stars an adorable tyke who suffers from an "I See Monsters Everywhere" syndrome. He is in the process of fleeing from some zombie types when he encounters MGMT in a grassy knoll, jamming in trippy silver space suits. The little guy may be freaked, but he's clearly an MGMT fan, and the band hooks him up with some headband merch. Sweet! A zombie policeman eventually reunites the little ankle-biter with his glamorous, designer bag-toting mom and it's back to his car seat for some must-see TV: a trippy puppet show replete with kaleidoscopic effects. New Song: Regina Spektor Barks Like a Dolphin!

Attention fans of dolphin impersonations and Regina Spektor: the songstress has just released a brand new tune, "Folding Chair," and it finds Spektor channeling her inner Flipper in song! As you may recall, SPIN.com recently caught up with the quirky songstress to chat about her new album Far (out June 23). She opened up about how much she loves making noises: "I could have just sampled a dolphin," the singer explained about recording "Folding Chair," "but barking is so much more fun to do." The plucky pop tune (complete with underwater improvisation) is available below. And, not to be picky here, but you might say Spektor's impersonation sounds more like an otter. Anyone? Weigh in with your marine animal opinion in the comments section below. LISTEN: Regina Spektor, "Folding Chair" BONUS: Spektor's also just released two videos for songs off the forthcoming Far.

    Paramore: Totally Over 'Twilight'

It seemed like only yesterday that Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams was gushing about how she was "in love with a vampire" and explained the hidden references in her band's Twilight soundtrack contribution "Decode." Well, chalk it up to the fickle nature of young love because, just like actress Kristen Stewart, Paramore is so over the Twilight franchise. "We don't want to be, like, the vampire house band," drummer Zac Farro told Billboard.com. "It was really fun to be a part of that, and great exposure, but I think Twilight was it for us. We don't want to seem like we're trying to get in every single movie they put out." Which makes perfect sense. Because, as everyone knows, vampires stay eternally young.

    Trent Reznor Disses Marilyn Manson

Trent Reznor just might be the new Liam Gallagher. As if to prove that love and an impending marriage haven't softened this rusty nail, Reznor has been taking aim at all areas of the music industry recently. First it was Weezer and Prince. And now, in an interview in U.K. music magazine MOJO, Reznor opens up about his fallout with onetime protégé Marilyn Manson. "He is a malicious guy and will step on anybody's face to succeed and cross any line of decency," Reznor said [via Spinner.com]. "Seeing him now, drugs and alcohol now rule his life and he's become a dopey clown." Which, as Reznor tells it, is not the way he was back when NIN was vouching for him.

Pearl Jam Debut New Tune on 'Tonight Show'

Conan O'Brien made his debut last night as the host of The Tonight Show, replacing Jay Leno after his 17-year tenure. The stars of the show? The towering Irish funnyman, Will Ferrell, and Seattle alt-rock fivesome Pearl Jam, who unveiled "Get Some," a brand new song off their fall release, Backspacer! After Conan gave viewers a peep at the album's cover art (which was designed by This Modern World comic strip artist Tom Tomorrow and features an illustration of a human anatomical model), Pearl Jam surged into new tune "Get Some," a straight-ahead rocker buttressed with garage punk power chords and a spry solo from rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard. Eddie Vedder wailed the snappy chorus: "Got some if you need it." The band's biggest fanboy? O'Brien.
