Spotify and Nigel Godrich Trade Shots in Debate Over Thom Yorke Streams, Royalties

As previously reported, Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich pulled Atoms for Peace's Amok and Yorke's Eraser from Spotify and Rdio after voicing their grief with the streaming service's alleged inability to pay out meaningful amounts to up-and-coming artists. "New artists get paid fuck all with this model," Godrich wrote. "It's an equation that doesn't work." He acknowledged that it's fine enough for artists with extensive back catalogs like Pink Floyd, calling it "money for old rope."Of course, the folks at Spotify see things a bit differently.

Azealia Banks Ignites Twitter Controversy With Homophobic Slur

"I'm done," said rapper Angel Haze in reply to a Tumblr questioner a couple of days ago, after having had the last word in a fiery yet still somewhat wince-inducing exchange of dis tracks with fellow female, New York City-repping hip-hop upstart Azealia Banks. If only Banks, who graced the cover of SPIN's September/October issue, had been willing to follow her Virginia-transplanted rival's lead.Unfortunately, beef is no longer the operative food metaphor here. Instead, Banks came out of the episode with some serious, regrettable, and unmistakable pie on her face — a mess from which she has fought to extricate herself through a series of tweets today.

Prince Debuts New Track 'RNR Affair,' Retro Hairdo

The last time Prince dropped in on The View, the screaming fans shorted out the audio and co-host Sherri Shepherd confessed that she'd wanted to make love to him her entire life, at which point the Purple One nearly jumped out of his seat and made for the nearest exit. Things were a bit more tame yesterday — well, barring the man's hair, which'd been teased into a compact 'fro. Yes, after decades of riding the wave, Prince is sporting a natural, the size and shape of which make a ridiculous combination with his circular specs.
