    Prior to a recent festival stop in Austin, TX the pride of Wasilla, AK (sorry Palin fam) Portugal. The Man got into some mischief all thanks to SPIN and HTC. Armed with the HTC G2 smartphones , band members documented their stops on the way to Austin with the device's HD camcorder, as well as exploring other functions like the Google Voice Actions.Bassist Zach Carothers was impressed by the phone taking him directly to the band's website after merely saying "Portugal.

The group has been heavy on the festival circuit this year, making about "30-35" appearances at various musical gatherings, according to guitarist Al Doyle. "We realized quickly it's important to give your audience some consistency," Doyle said."Our shows, we've got it down now and it'd be weird to break it up.We'll give people a solid ninety minutes." Even with all touring the band has still found a few stray minutes to get going on a new record.

Concerning her Voodoo Fest debut and her band's live show, Welch just wants the crowd to enjoy themselves.

"We watched the VMA's separately but in the same hotel, but we were texting each other the whole time like, OH MY GOD," Carney said.
