April 5, 2011 – The cast of hot new Comedy Central series, Workaholics, recently stopped by the SPIN Loft on 6th Street in Austin to help us out with some interviews. Adam Devine and Anders Holm from the show sat down with indie pop buzz band duo Tennis as they chatted about tattoos and how good the omelettes are from the band's hometown of Denver. March 4, 2011 – The Music Never Stopped, a new film directed and produced by Jim Kohlberg, stars J.K. Simmons and Lou Taylor Pucci as father and son who overcome stifling odds through the music of Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, the Beatles, and numerous other rock legends.The film is screening this month in cities across the country.Click here to RSVP! In the film, Gabriel Sawyer (Pucci) runs away from home when his father, Henry (Simmons), refuses to let him see a Grateful Dead show. The two are later reunited when Henry learns his son has a brain tumor that prevents him from creating new memories. Slowly but surely, the two repair their relationship through the tunes of Dylan, the Dead, the Stones, and other classic icons, whose songs seem to be the only thing helping Gabriel's mind to progress. March 4, 2011 – Invisible Children, a media-based non-profit organization that seeks to end conflict in in Central East Africa brought on by a rebel army, is hosting a four day series of street performances from artists at SXSW to raise awareness for their cause. "The Silver Series" will feature 25 bands celebrating 25 years of SXSW and recognizing the 25th year of war in East Africa. The performances will be filmed and turned into a collection of online videos, with two of them becoming La Blogotheque "Takeaway Shows". The organization has brought together a great lineup for the performances, featuring Deer Tick, Wye Oak, the Strange Boys, Sun Airway, Maps & Atlases, plus numerous other standout acts.
