Sebadoh Get Confrontational on Thrashing 'No Wound'

In September, Sebadoh returned with Defend Yourself, a decent album and the band's first in 14 years. As frontman Lou Barlow tells it, the 13-track collection was partly inspired by his separation from his wife and partner of 25 years, Kathleen Billus. In a recent interview with SPIN, Barlow said, "It's almost like I had to actually leave her for me to be honest — these songs were all pressing on me, but I needed the bigger theme to the songs, and I couldn't continue. For years, I had really written my way around the situation, and I had never been able to address it directly... So I decided to face them and it actually took some changes in my life to start finishing songs."Now that fans have had a few weeks to digest Defend Yourself, we have another song from the '90s all-stars' comeback.

Stream M.I.A.'s Entire 'Matangi' Album Right Now

M.I.A.'s Matangi is streaming in full right now, days ahead of its formal release. The Sri Lankan singer-rapper's drama-plagued fourth album doesn't drop until November 5, but the artist born Maya Arulpragasam has put the whole 15-track LP online. So far, we've already heard a host of songs from the follow-up to 2010's MAYA — "Y.A.L.A.," "Come Walk With Me," "Bring the Noize," "Only 1 U," "AtTENTion," and "Bad Girls," in addition to the near-identical "Sexodus" and "Exodus" — and now fans can feast on the entire platter. The official stream comes not long after the LP leaked. In an interview with Fader, M.I.A. said the LP was inspired by research she did on Matangi, the Hindu goddess of music and learning. "[Matangi] was a gangster, she was from the hood, but she was a goddess and hangs out in the jungle," M.I.A. said.

Hear Guantanamo Baywatch's Gritty Swooner 'Love This Time'

Portland's Guantanamo Baywatch are teaming with Nashville's Natural Child for the upcoming Surf N Turf EP, an aptly named split effort that pairs the former's beach-side grit with the latter's deep-in-the-heartland sprawl. Due December 3 via Suicide Squeeze Records, the collaborative release features Guantanamo Baywatch's "Love This Time," a scruffy ode to puppy love that lingers on malt shop harmonies before hitting the shore.

Eminem Is a Wax Figure With Kerry Washington in Awkward 'SNL' Promos

Eminem will make his sixth appearance on Saturday Night Live on November 2, and the self-described "Rap God" has posed for a pair of advertisements to promote the fast-approaching telecast. We use the word "pose" because that's really all that Em does in the two quick-hit commercials. Seriously — dude is so stiff he looks like he was dropped off straight from Madame Tussauds. Hit the play button above to watch the Detroit MC play the straight man opposite SNL castmember Nasim Pedrad and first-time host Kerry Washington.Em's upcoming stint on SNL takes place a few days before he unleashes his eighth album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. The 16-song set — which features guest appearances by Rihanna, SPIN cover star Kendrick Lamar, fun.'s Nate Ruess, and Skylar Grey — drops on November 5, the same day SiriusXM airs their "Town Hall" Q&A session with the 41-year-old MC.

Watch Arcade Fire Salute Devo's Urgent 'Uncontrollable Urge'

Arcade Fire played Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium on October 31, and in the spirit of Halloween, the Reflektor crew pretended to be Devo — well, for one song. The indie-rock juggernauts covered "Uncontrollable Urge," the jittery opening track from Devo's 1978 debut album, Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! (via Merge Records' Facebook). As seen in the fan-shot footage above, AF's tight, faithful rendition is plenty thrilling, but what makes the performance even more impressive is the fact that frontman Win Butler pulled the song off while wearing one of those oversize bobblehead masks from the "Reflektor" music video. The picture's fuzzy for much of the clip, but Arcade Fire's New Wave savvy is unquestionable. The Palladium gig is just the latest engagement on Arcade Fire's busy tour schedule.

Watch MGMT's Freaky Outer Space Ballet in 'Alien Days' Video

MGMT now have a trilogy of outré music videos for their problematic, self-titled third album. Following the absurd "Your Life is a Lie" clip and the Michael K. Williams-starring visual for "Cool Song No. 2," the psych-pop six-piece have dropped a video for spacey single "Alien Days." Co-directed by Sam Fleischner and Megha Barnabas, the short divides its time between two sets of characters. First, we have a 19th century-looking couple who live out in the country and spend their leisure time strapped into giant gyroscopes. Then we have a pair of aliens who are really into elaborate dance routines and firing beams of light from the palms of their hands. The threads intersect near the clip's end, but we won't say how — that's up to you to explore. Watch the "Alien Days" video above via Noisey.
