Drenge Announce Debut U.S. Single, Plot 2014 Tour

Drenge's breed of blues-punk menace has earned the brother-duo some notoriety in their native England. This year, Eoin and Rory Loveless — singer-guitarist and drummer, respectively — have taken the stage at a number of festivals in the U.K., including Glastonbury, Bestival, and Reading and Leeds, and also provided opening support for the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park and Arctic Monkeys at iTunes Festival. Despite their in-demand status overseas, Drenge haven't yet released a single in America. That'll change on January 14, though, when the brothers Loveless drop their first U.S. single via Canvasclub, the monthly 7-inch and digital single series run by Canvasback. The upcoming release features "Bloodsports" on the A-side and "Dogmeat" on the B-side, two tracks from Drenge's self-titled debut album, which was set loose on U.K.

Marina Abramovic Helped Lady Gaga Kick Her Marijuana Habit

Lady Gaga says she developed a marijuana habit so intense that she couldn't stop smoking until performance artist Marina Abramovic forced her to go cold turkey. In a recent interview with British magazine Attitude, the ARTPOP star reveals that she was lighting up as many as 15 times a day to cope with the pain from a hip injury she sustained earlier this year."I was smoking 15 joints a day," Gaga tells Attitude (via Reuters). "It was a habit that eventually occurred when the pain got so bad with the hip... I was just numbing, numbing, numbing myself and then sleeping it off and then getting on stage, killing it in pain, then getting off and smoking, smoking, smoking, not knowing what the pain was."The injury was so severe that Mother Monster was forced to cancel a slew of U.S. performances booked for her Born This Way Ball tour.

    R. Kelly Says He'll Make Ladyparts 'Growl' on Bruno Mars 'Gorilla' Remix

Bruno Mars has shared a new remix of his "Gorilla" single featuring guest appearances by Pharrell Williams and R. Kelly. Dubbed a "G-Mix," the alternate version debuted on Twitter on November 8, after the Hawaiian pop-crooner took part in a quick Q&A with fans. Rather than beginning with a smoothly sung Mars verse (or an intro featuring Freida Pinto and Luis Guzmán a la the track's music video), the "Gorilla G-Mix" starts with Pharrell spitting what could be a companion to his "Blurred Lines" video cameo: the super-producer rattles off a list of, uh, yoga poses he'd like to try with the ladies who (lyrically) surround him.Bruno shows up soon afterwards, bringing along his "body full of liquor with a cocaine kicker," and primed to launch into the song's arena-sized chorus. Cue R.

The upcoming production, also titled Jagged Little Pill, will feature all 12 songs from Morissette's third full-length, and will also include other tracks from her catalogue, in addition to some new tunes written exclusively for the show.Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt will handle orchestration and arrangements, just as he did for Green Day's American Idiot musical. Vivek J. Tiwary (American Idiot, The Addams Family) will produce alongside Arvind Ethan David. As of now, a book writer is not yet officially attached to the project.

See Chairlift's Singer Play Stretch Armstrong in Delorean's 'Unhold' Video

With the trauma of their "virtual kidnapping" now behind them, Barcelona's Delorean are moving forward with the promotion for their latest album, this year's Apar. The pop-friendly foursome have plans to tour the U.S. in early 2014, and they've also just shared the official music video for new single "Unhold." Directed by Eric Epstein and debuted on Nowness, the clip features Chairlift siren Caroline Polachek (who sings vocals on the fluttery tune) wandering through New York's Opus 40 sculpture park. Thanks to some visual trickery, the environment around Polachek warps and bends, giving the short a shapeshifting effect."The moving footage is resolved to a flat plane, so that everything in relief from that surface skews and stretches," Epstein says. "The track has this sway to it that I thought could be complimented by the visuals...

See Tyler, the Creator Get Cozy With Arsenio Hall in Charming Interview

Tyler, the Creator plopped himself on the couch at The Arsenio Hall Show on November 7 to "explain pretty much everything," according to the talk-show's website. Talking with Arsenio, the Odd Future ringleader shared his thoughts on a range of topics, including his straight-edge lifestyle ("Some things aren't for everyone"); his lyrical content ("Frank [Ocean] is gay, and I use that word ['faggot'] all the time — he doesn't care, because he knows me, he knows when I say that word I'm not thinking of someone's sexual orientation"); and President Obama ("He's an N-word that figured it out"). The Wolf-man also elaborated on his very public criticisms of the YouTube Music Awards, at which he performed on November 3."YouTube, the way that it's set up, it gives anyone who's creative a platform to showcase their work to people," the Creator said.

Eminem's 'Marshall Mathers LP 2' Childhood Home Burned in Fire

Eminem's childhood home in Detroit was damaged in a fire on November 7, further scarring the vacant property pictured on the cover of the rapper's recently released eighth album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. According to the Detroit Free Press, the city's fire department arrived on the scene at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, as flames were eating away at a boarded-up, second-floor window of the two-story bungalow. Firefighters were able to put out the blaze, but not before portions of the top floor sustained damage. The Detroit Fire Department didn't have any information as to what caused the fire.Back in September, the house — which originally appeared on the cover of Em's 2000 masterpiece, The Marshall Mathers LP — was listed as being owned by the Michigan Land Bank, a government program that manages empty properties across the state, including 11,000 in Detroit.

Laurie Anderson on Lou Reed: 'I Am So Proud of the Way He Lived and Died'

Since Lou Reed's passing on October 27, the late icon has been honored many times over by a slew of artists. Among those who paid tribute to the Velvet Underground co-founder: VU bandmate John Cale, Patti Smith, Arcade Fire, and David Bowie. One of the most heartfelt remembrances, though, came from Reed's widow, Laurie Anderson, who wrote a touching obituary for a local Long Island newspaper. Now, Anderson has penned another farewell to her longtime partner, who succumbed to liver disease at the age of 71.Anderson begins the piece by recalling the first time she and Lou Reed met, at a music festival organized by John Zorn in Munich in 1992. "John wanted us all to meet one another and play with one another, as opposed to the usual 'move-'em-in-and-out' festival mode," she writes. "That was why Lou asked me to read something with his band.
