  • drake, saturday night live, nothing was the same

Drake Admits He's 'The Saddest Boy in All of Canada' in Amazing 'SNL' Promos

Drake will put his child-actor chops to use on January 18 when he serves as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live. If SNL's just-released promotional teasers are any indication of what to expect from the Degrassi alum, then rest easy: "We'll Be Fine."While Eminem played it way too straight in his recent SNL promos, Drake looks to be enjoying himself on camera. The "Worst Behavior" rapper is laid-back, confident, and more than willing to poke fun at his persona with SNL castmembers Bobby Moynihan and Jay Pharoah. In a span of just a few minutes, Drake goes from being the subject of a fanboy-crush, deflects an eye-roll-inducing "Started From the Bottom" pun, and shows off his "ACTING!" skills by freely admitting that he's "the saddest boy in all of Canada."Watch the bits above, and relive Drake's stellar 2013 by flipping through The Year in Drake.

  • shy boys, bully fight

Stream Shy Boys' Inspired-by-Real-Life 'Bully Fight'

Shy Boys categorize themselves as a "landlocked surf outfit" — a self-deprecating description that suits the low-key trio, which formed when none of its members knew how to play their instruments. On January 21, the Kansas City, Missouri band — featuring brothers Colin and Kyle Rausch and Konnor Ervin — will release their self-titled debut album through High Dive Records."It's the sound of us standing in a room together and playing, guitar plugged straight into the amp, single-tracked vocals, finishing lyrics on pizza boxes so we can track the next song," Colin says. But why take his word for it? Scroll down to stream the unpolished gem that is "Bully Fight," a song inspired by news coverage of real-life school bully Richard Gale, whose intimidation tactics were immortalized on YouTube.
