Dead Rider Induce 'Chills' With Jumbled 'Blank Screen' Video

Chicago oddballs Dead Rider will return on March 18 with Chills on Glass, the foursome's third album and first for Drag City. (Frontman Todd Rittman is no stranger to the label, of course, having released a number of albums with his '90s noise-rock unit U.S. Maple through Drag City.) In advance of the upcoming, self-produced effort, Dead Rider have announced a string of U.S. tour dates for the spring and have shared a supremely weird and unsettling video. "Blank Screen" is a contorted, electronic-lathered track from Chills on Glass, and it now has a disjointed, splashy, and choppy visual to match.

"Angel Olsen has made an unforgettable and entrancing record. Burn Your Fire for No Witness is the musical equivalent of a deep, questioning stare from a lover, and what draws me to her voice is its peaceful, subtle touch. It has me leaning in to listen." (via NPR)2) Phantogram, Voices. "Phantogram plays spiky, dense and danceable pop-rock songs with an electronic pulse: Most of its songs have an insistent grind to them, with a percussive through-line snapping and jabbing and infusing virtually every moment with jumpy urgency...

Hear Spiritualized's Space-Sounds Epic 'Always Forgetting With You (the Bridge Song)'

Last month, Youth Lagoon unleashed "Worms," an experimental head-trip that's destined to appear on Space Project, an upcoming Lefse Records compilation featuring songs that use actual outer-space sounds recorded by the Voyager 1 and 2 space probes launched by NASA in 1977. Due April 19 (this year's Record Store Day), the 14-track set also includes songs by Beach House, Mutual Benefit, Porcelain Raft, and Spiritualized, who have now shared their Space Project contribution.Titled "Always Forgetting With You (the Bridge Song)," the six-minute track is a '50s-style swooner credited to Spiritualized "Mississippi Space Program." Frontman J. Spaceman rattles off heart-melting promise after heart-melting promise over sparkling strums. "If you want a rocket ship, I would be a rocket ship for you," he sings.

The Will Ferrell-Chad Smith Drum Battle Is $34,000 Away From Happening

The epic drum battle between Will Ferrell and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith is close to becoming a reality. Earlier this week, Ferrell announced on Reddit that if the charity Cancer for College was able to raise $300,000 in donations, then he would take part in a drum duel against the RHCP percussionist. Now, the campaign's Prizeo page indicates that fans have given more than $266,000 to Cancer for College, which aims to provide cancer survivors with college scholarships.Smith challenged Ferrell to the throwdown last week, when he shared a video on Funny or Die's Instagram. "I've seen your skills," Smith said in the clip, no doubt referencing Ferrell's proficiency with the cowbell.

Hockeysmith's 'But Blood' Video Is Dripping Wet

Annie and Georgie Hockeysmith have yet to issue their debut EP through Double Denim Records, but the sister-duo have already displayed a talent for shape-shifting. Recording under their surname, Hockeysmith, the English ladies dropped their debut single in 2013, a double A-side featuring ghostly slow-burner "Now I Want To" and the slightly trance-y piano tune "Let's Bang." Now, Hockeysmith have shared a music video for a dynamic new track dubbed "But Blood."The song is far more potent than its predecessors, melding acid-rock riffs, sub-bass hiccups, and a gentle vocal melody, and the video complements that stew with a liquid look.

    Watch Wu-Tang Clan's Never-Before-Seen Video for 2001's 'Ya'll Been Warned'

As the world continues to wait for the Wu-Tang Clan's long-delayed sixth album, a treasure from the rap collective's fourth record has just been uncovered. Sugar Factory Films has released the never-before-seen music video for "Ya'll Been Warned," a stutter-strut found on the Wu's 2001 LP, Iron Flag. As a video, the clip isn't too much to look at — just a fuzzy spotlight that jumps from Method Man, RZA, Raekwon, et al., to two female dancers. But as a time capsule piece, the short is a fascinating reminder of hip-hop's quainter days, when shooting budgets were lower and women in videos wore denim skirts. And to think, this was only a few years after Jay Z gave an interview next to two women performing oral sex on each other.Watch the video above, and keep waiting for Wu-Tang's A Better Tomorrow.

Wild Beasts' 'Sweet Spot' Explores the Seedy Side of Synth-Pop

Wild Beasts have uncovered a second song from their upcoming fourth album, Present Tense. "Sweet Spot" follows "Wanderlust," a darkly bubbling lead single built around a no-nonsense mission statement: "Don't confuse me with someone who gives a fuck." On their newest track, though, the English foursome give enough of a fuck to define, well, their "Sweet Spot." If Wild Beasts are to be trusted, it's somewhere "between bone-dry and the dripping wet," and can also be found "between two hands held in prayer." (Never mind that "there is a godless state where the real and the dream may consummate.") But judging from the airy vocals, lush synths, and color-changing visual they've shared, Wild Beasts' sweet spot is somewhere between the sensual and the uncomfortable.Stream "Sweet Spot" via the video above, and purchase it by plunking down $1.29 at iTunes.

Chino Moreno's Crosses Stir 'Bitches Brew' for Network TV Debut on 'Kimmel'

Chino Moreno's † † † (Crosses) made their network television debut on February 11, dropping by Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a double-header to support their eponymous debut album, released that same day by Sumerian Records. Supported by Far's Shaun Lopez, Chuck Doom, and a pair of backup players, Moreno commanded powerful renditions of "The Epilogue" (which, weirdly, is not the final track on the band's first LP) and previously heard single "Bi†ches Brew." With the former, the Deftones and Palms frontman held court over a surprisingly nimble groove, singing "We've circled around our doom" in between guitar screeches and hefty electronic flourishes.

Until the Ribbon Breaks Mashes Up Hollywood Flicks for Video Mixtape

Until the Ribbon Breaks, a.k.a. electronic balladeer Peter Lawrie Winfield, has a flair for the cinematic. Many of the one-man band's music videos lift footage from films: "Pressure" recut David Lynch's Lost Highway, "Perspective" borrowed snippets of the 2002 Spike Lee joint 25th Hour, and "Romeo" squeezed Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet into four and a half minutes. Now, the U.K.
