  • mac demarco, weezer, undone - the sweater song

Watch Mac DeMarco Unravel Weezer's 'Sweater Song'

Mac DeMarco isn't shy about his love of Weezer, so when presented with the opportunity to cover "Undone — the Sweater Song" for A.V. Club's weekly "Undercover" series, the Canadian singer-songwriter accepted. DeMarco tightens his trademark ramshackle guitar work but mumbles through the track's spoken-word interludes for a slapdash rendition. Yes, it's messy, and DeMarco admits the song is "probably easier" to learn than any other number on the "Undercover" master list, but just watch how red the 22-year-old's face gets near the end of the clip: He's laying it all bare.

  • primal scream, more light

Primal Scream's Kevin Shields-Assisted 'More Light' LP Comes to America in June

Primal Scream have teased their upcoming 10th album, More Light, for months now, rattling off the LP's star-studded guest list, pontificating about its "orchestral" and "electronic" sound, unveiling a U.K. release date (May 6), and filming videos for two singles: "2013" and "It's Alright, It's OK."Now the Glaswegian psych-rockers have finally confirmed a U.S. drop date — June 18, thanks to the band's own First International label (and Ignition Records) — as well as an expanded deluxe edition.

  • eels, puddles pity party

Watch an Angry Clown Punch Eels Guy in the Mouth

Eels leader Mark Oliver Everett showed off his comedy chops in a profanity-filled deleted scene from Judd Apatow's This Is 40, and now the alt-rock lifer has followed that gag with another practical joke, this one involving an "angry seven foot clown." While Eels played a second encore at a concert in Austria on April 21, opening act Puddles Pity Party — a sad-sack clown performer — crashed the stage, stole Everett's guitar, and punched the lead singer in the mouth.Everett (a.k.a. E) took the hoax further by writing on the band's Facebook page about the incident. "E, who suffered a bloody lip and two chipped teeth is seen spitting blood at the 4 minute mark of the video," the post reads. "'Puddles and I have been butting heads over the length of his set for the entire tour,' says E, speaking through his chipped teeth today, 'but this was a new level of unprofessionalism.

  • Baywood

See Baywood Lounge in the Sun for 'Gotta Get You' Video

Baywood's brand of simple, heartfelt folk-pop is likely to induce warm and fuzzy feelings, so the Los Angeles duo have shared an appropriately fuzzy, sun-lit music video for just-issued new single "Gotta Get You." The nearly four-minute clip crackles like a vintage home movie as Joe Ginsberg and Jarrad Kritzstein perform their latest release outdoors — handclaps, acoustic guitars, upright bass, charming "do do do" refrain, and all. Watch it up top and head over to iTunes to purchase "Gotta Get You."

Hear Lower's Furious New Single 'Another Life'

Nearly a year ago, Lower dropped their propulsive Walk on Heads EP, and now the Danish punks have thrown a tight-fisted new single, "Another Life," our way. Backed by barreling drums and a lithe guitar line, frontman Adrian Toubro lets out panicked yelps: "I'll show you what it takes / To shake your balance."Lower are set to release their debut full-length in the fall, and have announced their first-ever North American tour with fellow Danes, and Escho labelmates, Iceage.

Robert Plant Plots U.S. Tour With Band That Isn't Led Zeppelin

Unlike some iconic British rock bands, a full-blown U.S. tour from Led Zeppelin isn't a foregone conclusion, so for now, Zepp heads will have to settle for Robert Plant's latest project, Robert Plant Presents the Sensational Space Shifters. The "Whole Lotta Love" wailer will trek across the States, making a total of 21 stops, beginning with a performance in Dallas on June 20, and ending with a gig in Brooklyn's Prospect Park on July 27. Between those two shows, Plant and his Sensational Space Shifters will play California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.According to an official announcement, the Sensational Space Shifters grew out of Plant's tenure with his Strange Sensation band, which supported the singer on two albums: 2002's Dreamland and 2005's Mighty ReArranger.

Jane's Addiction, Alice in Chains Top Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival Lineup

Jane's Addiction — who are notably not playing this year's Lollapalooza — Alice in Chains, Coheed and Cambria, and more will hit the road together for the fourth annual Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival, organizers have announced.

  • Bambara

Stream Bambara's Entire Bruising 'DREAMVIOLENCE' LP

The three members of Bambara — twin brothers Reid and Blaze Bateh, and childhood friend William Brookshire — have been making music together since the seventh grade, which probably explains how the noise punks’ clobbering sound and art-grime aesthetic could already be so fully formed. DREAMVIOLENCE, the proper full-length follow-up to 2010’s debut EP, Dog Ear Days, arrives on April 30 (through the trio’s own Emerald Weapon Records label), and the 13-track collection manages to contain Bambara’s stormy thrashing — all hollowed-out vocals, fits of distortion, and a rusty seesaw rhythm section — while leaving room for the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Athens, Georgia unit to rage so freely. Hear it below, pre-order it here.
