Watch Free Time's Leisurely 'I Lost Again' Video

Free Time aren't in a hurry. That much is clear not just from the foursome's drowsy brand of Yo La Tengo-informed rock revisionism, but also from the leisurely video to "I Lost Again," the opening track off the New York-by-way-of-Melbourne crew's upcoming self-titled debut album (out May 28 via Underwater Peoples). The above clip follows the Dion Nania-led quartet as they meander through the noodling track while riding a loft elevator. When Nania tosses off the line, "Sometimes passion's out of place / I'm gonna hold my horses / It's not a raaaaaaace," he isn't just offering wisdom — he's issuing a mission statement.

Grimes Goes Bird-Watching for Misty 'Venus in Fleurs' Video

Grimes famously wrote earlier this year that her Tumblr is "not a news source," which means that this news post probably won't make Claire Boucher happy. This past weekend, Boucher shared an old but unreleased video for "Venus in Fleurs," a mostly wordless meditation off her 2010 debut album, Geidi Primes. "We were supposed to release [this video] ages ago and somehow it didn’t happen," Boucher wrote on Tumblr. "Probably because it didn’t comply with the press cycle at the time and since I’ve stopped caring about complying with press cycles [I'm] sharing this now." (Read the full text of that post below.)The above clip, directed by Video Marsh, was shot entirely at the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary in British Columbia, Canada, and, as expected, the camera focuses on several birds living there. "It’s a different vibe entirely as you can see," Grimes posted.

Nine Inch Nails' Extremely Graphic 'Broken' Short Film Surfaces 20 Years Later

Recently, a treasure trove of Nine Inch Nails-related video content has been making its way online. Back in February, a couple of weeks before Trent Reznor announced that he was reviving NIN with a new lineup, fans uploaded two bits of footage from the industrial icons' Fragile days (circa Y2K); not long after that, Reznor himself posted a 75-minute documentary following NIN's mid-'90s Self Destruct Tour; and then came the three-years-in-the-making nine inch nails: [after all is said and done] fan film chronicling the final 2009 show on NIN's Wave Goodbye tour. Now, another relic has climbed out of the Downward Spiral: an extremely graphic 20-minute short film that acts as a companion to 1992's Broken EP.The 1993 feature, directed by Peter Christopherson, compiles music videos for five of the EP's six tracks by tying them together through a "snuff" film motif.

Spoon Reveal Very Spoon-Like Song Titles From New Album

Britt Daniel's been busy with a pair of side-projects lately — a thing called Divine Fits and another named Spl:t S:ngle — but the Texan frontman is finally at work on the next Spoon album. "We've been hanging out at [drummer/producer Jim Eno's] a lot in the past couple months and we're still in the writing stages," the band revealed in a newsletter (via Pitchfork). "But the shit is sounding good." Spoon have also confirmed eight new song titles: "The Rent I Pay," "Naff Bag," "Millionaires," "Let Me Be Mine," "Modern Girls," "I Ain't the One," "Fresh From Your Pages," and "Give Me It." All in all, a very Spoon-like mix of the mundane, the bizarre, the romantic, and the caustic. When speaking to SPIN recently, Daniel described the follow-up to 2010's underrated Transference as "slightly more R&B.""Right now it's a lot of instrumental music," he said.

The Lonely Island Announce 'Wack' New Album

The Lonely Island, taking a cue from (or maybe a potshot at) Random Access Memories duo Daft Punk, teased their upcoming album by airing a 15-second commercial during Saturday Night Live over the weekend. It confirmed the barest of details: The Lonely Island. New Album. June 11th. In a follow-up statement, the fake-rap trio revealed its title: The Wack Album. "We’re decidedly pumped to share another collection of our fake raps with the world," the Andy Samberg-led outfit said in the official announcement.

Watch Blake Hazard's Hotel-Set 'Colonnade' Clip

Blake Hazard, the great-granddaughter of F. Scott Fitzgerald, makes a cameo appearance in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald's Jazz Age-set Great American Novel. But before Gatsby arrives in theaters on May 10, fans can see Hazard star in her own vehicle, the above video for "Colonnade," the first single off the Submarines vocalist's upcoming solo album, The Eleanor Islands (out July 9). The four-minute short finds the Los Angeles singer-songwriter in a hotel room, in between travels, lounging around on a bed, posing for the camera, and singing into a microphone stand, trying to distract from the ex-lover-sized hole in her heart.

Thom Yorke's Piano-Led 'Karma Police' Still Arresting, 16 Years After 'OK Computer'

Thom Yorke's new band Atoms for Peace doesn't hit the road until July (those DJ gigs Yorke hosted with Nigel Godrich earlier this year didn't feature the five-man crew's other three members), but the Radiohead frontman dropped by Britain's The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday (May 4) to promote those shows. After a quick piano-side chat with the late-night show's host, Yorke moved into a solo, abridged version of OK Computer classic "Karma Police," ending the 90-second rendition by cheekily asking, "That's probably enough, right?" The AFP leader followed with a delicate, somber take on "Ingenue," a jittery groove off Atoms for Peace's debut LP, Amok.

The Cure, D'Angelo, and Toro y Moi Added to Austin City Limits 2013 Lineup

The official lineup for this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival will be announced tomorrow, but a handful of acts have already been confirmed to hit the stage for the annual double-weekend showcase. Muse recently blurted out that they'll be stopping by Austin's Zilker Park this fall, and soon after that ACL organizers teased live sets from fun., Grouplove, Shovels & Rope, and True Believers via a series of mysterious classfied ads. Another round of performers has now been confirmed for the event (taking place October 4 to 6 and October 11 to 13): the Cure, Neko Case, Haim, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Toro y Moi, the Joy Formidable, and D'Angelo. As Slicing Up Eyeballs points out, ACL is dropping clues by printing artists' names on plastic cups, T-shirts, bottle caps, napkins, and more.
