  • Thao & The Get Down Stay Down The Feeling Kind Video EP

See Thao & the Get Down Stay Down Christen a Bridge in 'The Feeling Kind'

We recently had the honor of speaking to Thao Nguyen in her hometown of San Francisco, shortly after she'd shredded and shouted the Outside Lands Festival with lovely aplomb. The Get Down Stay Down leader clearly had a soft spot for her city and the new video (via Stereogum) for her sax-bomping single "The Feeling Kind" pays stellar treatment to S.F.'s brand new landmark: the Bay Bridge, um revisited. The utopian-looking new structure opened up to the public mere weeks ago and Nguyen wasted no time in testing out the pedestrian path. Seen above, she wrangles bandmates and feathered friends for a purposeful march over the water. This particular highlight from Thao's latest album We the Common now tops its very own EP.

  • The Cairo Gang 'Take Your Time' Video Tiny Rebels

Trip With the Cairo Gang for Reality-Bending 'Take Your Time' Video

The Cairo Gang found their widest audience with 2010's Bonnie 'Prince' Billy collaboration The Wonder Show of the World, but the Chicago crew have their own worldly wonders to share. To wit: mini-album Tiny Rebels, out now on Empty Cellar, which takes Byrds-like psych-pop and turns it to 11, resulting in sprawling technicolor numbers like "Take Your Time." That highlight now gets a fittingly blown-out and brightly colored video above, directed by Maximilla Lukacs (Karen Elson, First Aid Kit, Lavender Diamond). Therein, we see a woman dancing and drifting through familiar landscapes made trippy. Meanwhile singer Emmett Kelly coos and howls in turn. The Cairo Gang, Tiny Rebels track list:1. "Father of the Man"2. "Find You With a Song"3. "Shake Off"4. "Shivers"5. "Take Your Time"6. "Tiny Rebels"

  • Arcade Fire Reflektor Eminem Linkin Park Billboard Chart

Who Charted? Arcade Fire and Linkin Park Bookend Big 'Duck Dynasty' Week

First! It's an upset! A previously unknown band by the name of the Reflektors debuts at the top of the highest chart in the land. Okay, yeah, no. We can't keep up the ruse either — everyone knows it's the Arcade Fires, er, Arcade Fire who nabbed Billboard's No. 1 slot with Reflektor, a "long and weird and indulgent and deeply committed" album in the dub/rara/dance-punk vein. Worth noting: 40 Rock Bands Who Beat Arcade Fire to the Disco Floor (spoiler alert: one is Talking Heads). Also interesting: This was the Merge Records band's first run with Universal handling distribution and Capital working radio. How did the major label upgrade pan out? Meh. Turns out 2010's The Suburbs (a better fake band name, btw) started at No. 1 with 156K, per Nielsen SoundScan, compared with 140K for Reflektor All hail Merge the Mighty.2 to 10: Last week's leader gracefully floats down to No.

  • Yo Gotti I Am Album Stream J Cole LeBron James T.I. YG

Stream Yo Gotti's 'I Am,' an All-Star Opus That's Bigger Than Southern Rap

Yo Gotti has built a small empire operating independently out of Memphis — his own prolific catalog alongside the artists on his CMG label — so when the man born Mario Mims teams with a major label, it only follows that the product is going to be major in and of itself. Indeed, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more aptly named outfit than Epic to release I Am.The highly diverse album wrangles an impressive array of collaborators and travels a wide variety of rap terrain. The hyphy-flavored "Act Right," featuring Jeezy and YG, dovetails perfectly with the trap-dwelling, highly quotable "ION Want It" (lyric: "If the chopper don't come with a stand, ION want it"). T.I. joins for the club anthem "King Shit," and Rich Homie arrives for the emotional "I Know." Assists from Ne-Yo ("Respect That You Earn") and J.

  • M.I.A. NFL Middle Finger Matangi Symbol Super Bowl Madonna

M.I.A. Flips Off NFL With Explanation That Middle Finger Is About Yoga

To the untrained eye, that thing M.I.A. is doing with her middle fingers above on the red carpet of the YouTube Music Awards may seem offensive. But really, the Sri Lankan-raised Matangi-maker is just doing her part to promote best yogic practices. You see, Hindu culture includes a series of specific hand-gestures used during meditation, and Maya Arulpragasam is merely paying tribute to the goddess Matangi when she (frequently) flips the bird.In case you were living under a rock or not yet born in the year 2012 (welcome!), M.I.A. got into hot water during Madonna's Super Bowl XLVI halftime show when she raised her middle finger to the camera. Some people cared. Most probably didn't.

  • Peter Gabriel Courage So Box Set Stream Demo Finished

Peter Gabriel Finished 'Courage' Demo 26 Years Late and It's Great

Peter Gabriel has at long last finished the demo for "Courage," an incomplete song hailing from the sessions that created the 1986 classic So. His fifth solo album received a boxed set reissue last year on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, and the deluxe package included the original incomplete version of the glistening art-rock gem, written alongside such still-inescapable songs as "Sledgehammer" and the Kate Bush collaboration "Don't Give Up."Below you can now hear a proper "radio edit" of "Courage" (purchase via iTunes). Engineer/producer Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Pearl Jam, Dandy Warhols) re-mixed the scratch take and Gabriel recorded overdubs alongside longtime collaborator, guitarist David Rhodes. The salvaged song is as imbued with twitchy energy and epic overtones as its peers.

  • Actress Ghettoville Album Retire Hazyville Box Set Vinyl

Actress Teases Retirement With 'Ghettoville' Album Announcement

English producer Actress teased his own career's demise with the title of his SPIN Essential 2012 album R.I.P. Now the man born Darren Cunningham has announced his intent to drop a proper follow-up in the January, and he appears to be implying that this could be the end. Ghettoville is a new 16-song set presented not only as the proper sequel to his 2008 debut Hazyville, but as "the bleached-out and black-tinted conclusion of the Actress image."Before we get to Cunningham's entire cryptic message, the hard facts: Ninja Tune and Werkdiscs will be releasing Actress' fourth album in all of the usual formats both separately and as one jam-packed boxed set. That'll include the 3LP version of Ghettoville and a new 32-page art book, plus an exclusive 2LP remastered copy of Hazyville (and CDs of both to boot).

  • Destroyer 'Bye Bye' Video Five Spanish Songs EP Tour Dates

See Destroyer Coo 'Bye Bye' From a Chicken Farm

Destroyer returns on November 25 with Five Spanish Songs — the Vancouver rock experimentalist's unexpected en español follow-up to his wooly soft-jazz full-band 2011 effort Kaputt. Last month we heard the T. Rex-channeling electric stomper "El Rito" and now, thanks to Stereogum, we have the video for the far quieter "Bye Bye." For this project, Dan Bejar is exclusively playing the music of Sr. Chinarro songwriter Antonio Luque, and above we see him strumming this dreamy folk song at a chicken ranch amidst some lush vegetation.

  • Paramore 'Daydreaming' Video Album Watch Live

Paramore Export Emotional Excellence Abroad in 'Daydreaming' Video

Paramore are celebrating their just-wrapped U.K. tour with a new video shot out the road. "Daydreaming" is one of the quieter, more contemplative highlights from the pop-emo band's big return album, Paramore, earlier this year, although it contains its fair share of bursting moments. The clip above captures that dichotomy well, contrasting shots of Hayley Williams and co. in action against footage of two young women in transit, moving through the scenery with in a rather, yes, dreamy manner. Best of all, the clip comes with a heartwarming surprise ending. Revisit SPIN's October interview with Williams in which she spoke about her ambitions for Paramore's European travels.

  • Miley Cyrus Future 'Real and True' Migos Hannah Montana Twerk Remix

Miley Cyrus Sings With Future as Migos Remix 'Hannah Montana'

Miley Cyrus appears in the new single by rappa-turnt-sanga Future. With an assist from English G.O.O.D. Music singer Mr Hudson and ubiquitous producer Mike WiLL Made-It, the unlikely duo delivers a genuine love song as hybridized pop-ballad/AutoTune-soul crawler. At the start of "Real and True," Future wrestles with having such strong feelings for one woman when the trappings of his career suggest he should be a player. It's kinda profound, and Cyrus on a sincerity kick can be a powerful thing (see "Wrecking Ball") as well. Stream that cut from the upcoming Honest below, or buy it on iTunes. But while we're here, it's worth noting that we see a different side of Future, alongside Freebandz affiliate Casino, on the just-released "Pocket Watching" from 808 Mafia's fresh mixtape Crazy 8 X It's a Southside Track 3 (via Fader).
