  • My Midnight Heart 'Chest of Hearts' Video EP Anime NSFW

Watch My Midnight Heart's NSFW Anime Adventure 'Chest of Hearts'

My Midnight Heart is Angelica Allen, a New York songwriter whose stunning pipes have landed her touring memberships with acts as diverse as symphonic prog project Trans Siberian Orchestra and nü-disco collective Escort. But Allen's voice both literal and figurative can best be heard in her own music, as My Midnight Heart. Like contemporaries Blood Orange and Kelela, she trades in a combination of dream-like R&B and drifty electronic textures without ever lacking for propulsion. Above, you'll hear the titular song from her just-released Chest of Hearts EP. It's a stunner of a track, wedded with an eye-catching anime (a wee bit NSFW) whose flavor seems inspired by Akira and Ninja Scroll.

  • HARD Festival Women EDM DJs All Female

HARD to Throw Spring Festivals Featuring All-Female Bill

The folks behind the HARD electronic music festival are plotting a pair of bicoastal spring events that will feature an all-female talent lineup. Though promoters haven't yet announced a name for the "weekenders" set to go down in both Los Angeles and New York, founder Gary "Destructo" Richards told Rolling Stone that he's booking "all the dope-ass girl DJs that play HARD" plus "some new ones that haven't."HARD was minted in L.A. in 2007, and has since expanded to include multiple events annually therein (the Day of the Dead celebration just took place last weekend), plus intermittent iterations in Miami, San Francisco, and N.Y.C., the Holy Ship cruise, and one national tour featuring a bill topped by Crystal Castles.

  • Superchunk Clambakes Vol. 7 Australia Live Free Concert Download

Superchunk Return to Australia, 1996, for Free 'Clambakes' Live Set

Superchunk return to their long-running live album series with Clambakes Vol. 7: Shut the F*ck Up!...No, We Love You - Live at the Corner Hotel 1996, which is by far to be the longest title in the whole lot (head to the Merge Records site to catch up). The show specifics: Melbourne, Australia, November 23, 1996. That'd be the year landing between the release of Here's Where the Strings Come In and Indoor Living. And the reason for the season:"To celebrate our return to Australia," leader Mac McCaughan writes beneath the SoundCloud share, "we take you back to the last show of our last visit and a Clambake recorded live at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne in November 1996. It sounds like this was a fun night and I'm sure it was—Smudge and The 3Ds were on the bill—so please excuse a few glitches in the recording and enjoy the energy circa '96.

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers Chad Smith Brazil Soccer Jersey Flamengo

Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith Wipes Self With Soccer Jersey, Gets Death Threats

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has made a grave tactical error: he's insulted Brazil's most popular soccer team Flamengo, while standing on Brazilian soil. In the clip below, he can be seen opening up a gift given to him by someone in the crowd at a drum clinic in Belo Horizonte on Sunday. He tears back the plastic to unfurl the instantly recognizable jersey of Clube de Regastas do Flamengo and the crowd goes wild. So far so good. Then he holds the garment up in mock triumph, and then proceeds to shove it down the back of his pants. Yes, as TMZ chose to word it, Smith wiped his ass with the thing, and then tossed it over his shoulder while someone in the crowd tossed something at him.

  • Ariana Grande Demons Insane Interview Satan Pope Crazy

Ariana Grande Issues Public Apology to Satan's Minions

In a new interview with Complex, 20-year-old Nickelodeon star and pop singer Ariana Grande reveals that she is haunted by demons. Like, literal demons. Fang-toothed, horn-headed, hoof-having, devil's minions type demons. Really. Despite having "the most chaste popular music this side of a Christian station" in her new album Yours Truly, or maybe because of that, it appears she has been singled out by Satan for frequent harassment. The conversation begins innocently enough, with a chat about Grande's favorite restaurant, though perhaps it's prescient that the place is called Stir Crazy. A few questions later, an unusual exorcism of ideas begins: "We were in Kansas City a few weeks ago and went to this haunted castle and were so excited. The next night we wanted to go to Stull Cemetery, which is known as one of the seven gates to hell on Earth.

  • Solange Knowles Dirty Projectors David Longstreth Video

Hear the First Taste of Solange's Collaboration With Dirty Projectors' David Longstreth

Solange Knowles has been plenty busy getting her exciting new label Saint Records and its accompanying web hub, Saint Heron, off the ground. She'd be forgiven for taking a breather from her hotly anticipated new album, but it turns out she's got time for that as well. The alt-R&B queen has shared two brief snippets to Instagram of her previously teased collaboration with Dirty Projectors' David Longstreth. In the first post, she writes, "Friday...me...and my piano chords...." set to the sound of her wordless cooing and some glassy notes. Minutes later, she followed with the next bit, where a beat kicks in: "And @davidlongstreth nasty nasty drums." Get a feel for that particular funk below, watch Solange rock a Houston mall, and check out tracks from her forthcoming Saint Heron compilation by Kelela and BC Kingdom.

  • Chance the Rapper Coldplay Fix You Cover Live Video

Watch Chance the Rapper Cover Coldplay's 'Fix You' Live

Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap displays the Chicago MC's diverse tastes and talent. That SPIN Essential showcases his tongue-twisting rhyme styles and smoky singing ability with equal aplomb (plus his ability to squawk like a crow), but it's still a pleasant surprise to watch SAVEMONEY's shining star sing a little Coldplay. In the clip above, via Highbrow Hip-Hop, we see Chance covering "Fix You," an X&Y highlight that in the Rapper's hands somehow winds up sounding a bit like Mount Eerie or the Microphones. The man is currently on his Social Experiment Tour accompanied by footwork innovators DJ Rashad and Spinn. The fan-shot video above comes from Wednesday night's stop in Syracuse, New York. Visit Chance the Rapper's site for the full schedule.Meanwhile, check out SPIN's 40 Best Hip-Hop Songs of 2013.

  • Justin Timberlake Poison Bell Biv DeVoe Cover Video

Watch Justin Timberlake Perform Bell Biv DeVoe's 'Poison'

Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 may have inspired us to long nostalgically for the days of the first 20/20 Experience, and that literally dragging "TKO" video didn't do the dude any favors, but the "Holy Grail"-holding singer travelled back in time much further for his Brooklyn show at Barclays on Wednesday night. With a little help from his Tennessee Kids band — a whole lot of sing-along from the crowd — JT performed Bell Biv DeVoe's 1990 New Jack Swing classic, "Poison," a song whose lineage has everything to do with inspiring the late-'90s boy band boom that launched 'N Sync. The fan-shot clip above captures the performance best, but the one below has a great angle for the inevitable dance routine. Which, by the way ... the guy's still got it.

  • Weekend 'Rosaries' Video Jinx Slumberland Tour

Weekend Score a Lonely Man's NSFW Night Out in 'Rosaries' Video

Weekend's second album Jinx offers taut post-punk and bleakly hazed dreamscapes in spades — we heard "Mirrors" earlier this year, and now there's a fittingly disquieting video for "Rosaries." The song itself is a breathy, beautiful gush warmly reverbed and powered by a strong kick. But paired with the clip above, which is directed by singer/bassist Shaun Durkan and guitarist Kevin Johnson, the song feels downright haunted. Therein, we follow the lonely existence of a man who seems to long for a life that he used to have, but who's consigned to a lonely, nocturnal existence.

  • Ian Curtis Kitchen Table eBay Suicide Joy Division Buy

Even Closer: Own Ian Curtis' Joyless Kitchen Table

Haven't got a place to put that entire record store that's currently being auctioned off on eBay? Well, how about a table? As Stereogum points out, Ian Curtis' kitchen table is currently collecting bids on eBay too. As Joy Division's fans know, the troubled singer took his own life on May 18, 1980, hanging himself in the kitchen of his home in Macclesfield, England, using a washing line. The item of furniture that, er, witnessed the awful event is currently at £2,500, or $4,020.As the seller explains in impressive (albeit necessary) detail, the widow Debbie Curtis sold the home and much of its contents to a neighbor who converted it into a bed and breakfast. The neighbor later gave the table to her daughter, Vicky Morgan, upon the occasion of the younger's wedding. Then Morgan redecorated (!) and decided it didn't fit.
