  • Pacers Danny Granger Holy Grail Justin Timberlake Jay Z

Pacers' Danny Granger Sings 'Holy Grail' While Justin Timberlake Applauds

On Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers went up against the Miami Heat and won, but there was another victory at the Indianapolis arena. As part of a headphones giveaway, Pacers forward Danny Granger was given a challenge: sing a song with the jam-cans on and blaring, and if teammates George Hill and Paul George can name the tune, a dude in the crowd wins the product. The song: Jay Z's "Holy Grail" featuring Justin Timberlake. As it turns out, a bearded Timberlake was in the audience, watching the whole thing go down. As Granger sung out of key and his buddies got into it, JT listened intently and then gave a standing ovation. Watch above for now. If that clip is pulled down, visit the Pacers' official site. • Cibo Matto Hotel Valentine MFN Video Tour Album

Cibo Matto Return With Wild New 'MFN' Video, Album News

After 15 years of effective silence, Cibo Matto are returning in a big way. The Shibuya-kei crew have announced a new album, shared a new music video, and released new tour dates all in one fell swoop. Above, you can watch Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda shred, rap, pop, and groove in the Georgia-directed clip for "MFN," a wonderfully colorful sensory overload that is perfectly matched to the wild and swaggering song. (Watch in HD.)The new single finds Cibo Matto in top form, which is good since on February 14, it'll arrive attached to nine other tracks. The New York duo's third album will be called Hotel Valentine and its song titles stick with the theme (as do the "MFN" protestations about room service).

  • Giorgio Moroder Scarface Tony's Theme Trap Remix

Hear Giorgio Moroder's Trap Remix of the 'Scarface' Theme

Your eyes do not deceive you, and neither will your ears — Italian disco, um, godfather and film-scoring guru Giorgio Moroder has taken Tony Montana to the trap. In honor of the 30th anniversary of Olive Stone and Brian De Palma's classic gangster flick Scarface, the man has remixed "Tony's Theme," adding rave synths, drum builds, ambient EDM wash, and, yes, a bunch of crazy hi-hat rolls. As a bonus, Moroder's sampled some dialogue, catching Al Pacino as the titular Tony, M16 machine gun in hand: "Say hello to my little friend!" Well, say hi, why dontcha.Moroder's also recently remixed Haim's "Forever" and Claire's "Broken Promise Land." And of course, he had a hand in Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, one of SPIN's 50 Best Albums of 2013.

  • Young Fathers War Stream Dead Album Anticon

Young Fathers Wage 'War' on Haunting Soul-Rap Single

We've been following Young Fathers ever since the Afro-Scottish rap/psych/pop trio began to make waves Stateside: from their darkly shamanistic TAPE ONE (see: videos for "Romance" and "Sister"); to the soulfully gritty TAPE TWO (via "I Heard" and "Mr. Martyr"); and, most recently, their post-Yeezus ear-splitter "Effigy." The three have been on a steady march toward stranger, more bewitching heights and are at last set to release their proper debut album in the new year via Anticon in the U.S. and Big Dada abroad. Due out February 4, Dead will include 11 songs, one of which is now streaming below. "War" opens with a minimal wasteland of a beat and growled-out rhymes, but soon an almost angelic voice comes in riding chiming xylophone. Young Fathers, Dead track list:1. "No Way"2. "Low"3. "Just Another Bullet"4. "War"5. "Get Up"6. "Dip"7. "Paying"8. "Mmmh Mmmh"9. "Hangman"10.

  • Serengeti Doseone 'Sprung' CAB Jel Nosdam Stream

Hear Serengeti and Doseone's Bluesy Rap Bruiser 'Sprung'

Serengeti has always been prolific, but the Chicago MC is mid-stride right now, churning out one vein-baring, yarn-spinning, must-own character study after the next. This year alone he's given us the hallucinogenic, Thoreau-channeling Saal and his humorous hip-hop meta-fiction mission, the Kenny Dennis LP. But hell, there are still precious days left in December, so why not slip in another set of songs before 2013 wraps? Today, Anticon Records releases C.A.B., a free seven-song follow-up to 2012's C.A.R. album, both of which hail from a fruitful session between Geti and O.G. left-field producers Jel and Odd Nosdam. Below you'll find "Sprung," a love-distorting rap duet between our host and cLOUDDEAD hero Doseone set to a bluesy, bone-rattling beat. Hear more at Bandcamp.Check out SPIN's 40 Best Hip-hip Albums of 2013 to see where Serengeti landed.Serengeti, C.A.B.

  • Phantogram 'Fall in Love' Stream Voices Album

'Fall in Love' With Phantogram's Sultry New Single

Phantogram will return in 2014 with Voices, the New York duo's long-anticipated second album and first full-length for a major label. Republic Records has set a February 18 release date for the new set, which follows 2011's Nightlife EP and 2009's Eyelid Movies LP, and includes brand new single "Fall in Love." Heard below, the powerful song builds upon the pair's known love for hip-hop sampling and knack for ethereal psychedelia, with Sarah Barthel's vocals sounding particularly soulful over Josh Carter's stuttering grooves. Voices was recorded in Los Angeles with co-production by John Hill (M.I.A., Santigold) and is available for pre-order via iTunes and Amazon. The track list (and a few dates) can be found below — no sign of Big Boi as of yet, but there is a song called "Bill Murray," and that can only mean good things.Phantogram, Voices track list:1.

  • Flying Lotus Black Skinhead Remix Ideas Drafts Loops Download

Flying Lotus Remixes 'Black Skinhead,' Shares Free 24-Track Set

In a Twitter Q&A with his fans yesterday, Flying Lotus revealed that he's all but finished with a brand new album for 2014. He has a title and a track list, and all that the official follow-up to 2012's lovely Until the Quiet Comes needs now is a solid mixing session and a release date. That means the Los Angeles producer is probably flush from cutting room scraps — hence, Ideas+drafts+loops, a free 24-track set he's just gleefully dumped onto the Internet. As Consequence of Sound points out, cameos come from Shabazz Palaces, Baths, the Underachievers, Thundercat, and more. Among the highlights are a remix of Kanye West's Yeezus single "Black Skinhead" featuring the aforementioned bass god (stream that below). "U kno what ... Fuck it," began FlyLo in a series of tweets on Tuesday. "About to be 300K [followers] today probably. Zip file coming right up.

  • Johnny Cash 'Out Among the Stars' Lost Album

Lost Johnny Cash Album 'Out Among the Stars' Due in 2014

On March 25, we'll get a never-before-heard Johnny Cash album culled from early '80s sessions with Country Music Hall of Famer Bill Sherrill. In the clip above, John Carter Cash explains that he found his father's lost recordings with the Nashville-based producer while combing through the family archives. Dubbed Out Among the Stars, the album will arrive via Columbia/Legacy and contain 12 songs (plus a digital bonus cut)."They never threw anything away," the younger Cash told the Associated Press of his parents. June Carter Cash appears on two of the unearthed songs, which also include a cameo from Waylon Jennings. "They kept everything in their lives.

  • YACHT 'Icarus Complex' Boats Sun Choir Benefit Compilation

YACHT's 'Icarus Complex' Samples a Children's Choir to Benefit India

In October, we learned of a pair of talent-stuffed compilations coming in the new year in order to benefit children in southeast India. Dubbed Sun Choir and BOATS, the sets both arrive on January 20 via Scotland's Transgressive North. Then we heard Four Tet's mesmerizing "Gillie Amma, I Love You." Now we get a similarly minimal work from Los Angeles dance destroyers YACHT dubbed "Icarus Complex."The wordless piece begins with rattling percussion and copious reverb, picks up chopped choir vocals and burbling synth, and morphs into a playful groove that ends all too soon. Enjoy that below. And revisit our earlier post for more on the project, whose proceeds fund Scottish Love in Action and which also features Rustie, No Age, Dan Deacon, Taken by Trees, Deerhoof, Califone, and Gang Gang Dance.Preview the Everything Is New film, which accompanies the compilations:

  • Britney Spears 'Perfume' Video Fantasy Jean

Britney Spears' 'Perfume' Video Is a Perfume Ad, of Course

Britney Spears has shared the video for "Perfume," the Sia-penned ballad that nevertheless fails to inject humanity into the pop star's eighth album Britney Jean. The Joseph Kahn-directed clip, however, succeeds at injecting plenty of clutch underwear-assisted shots of Spears' actual perfume, Fantasy. The product placement ("embedding" might be more accurate) comes interspersed between shots of our vulnerable heroine doing very American things with her unfaithful beau — holding hands by a jukebox, taking in sepia sunsets over fields, lazing in flannel and lace. It's kinda like Lana Del Rey's "Ride" with pink bottles of froofy scent instead of guns, sex, or blood. Watch above, and peruse SPIN's 20 Best Pop Albums of 2013 to find out what did make the cut.
