Bonde Do Role Take Matt & Kim to the Favela on 'It's Alright' Remix

Matt & Kim's "It's Alright" is a perfectly representative slice of the Brooklyn dance-punk duo in 2013: His syrup-sweet vocals and her drum-line fireworks, topped off with a thick patina of glossed horn blurts, melodies that mimic air-raid sirens, and a slight hint of tropical pop. "Maybe we're going nowhere fast," sings Matt Johnson, "Maybe we never even touched the gas." Leave it to Bonde Do Rolê to put pedal to the metal. The Brazilian baile-funk posse have reworked that Lightning LP standout for the forthcoming Lightning Remixes set, due October 1 via FADER Label and featuring that aforementioned Adam and Eve-inspired cover (yes, the one that finds Johnson and Kim Schifino naked as the day they were born).

  • Ariel Pink 'Bad Vibes' Score Werewolf Movie John Landis

Ariel Pink Will Score a Movie About Werewolf Hippies Called 'Bad Vibes'

Ariel Pink will score a forthcoming movie about hippie werewolves, naturally. The Los Angeles-bred avant-rockist and purported chillwave godfather is making his inaugural venture into the film world with Bad Vibes, a SpectreVision production. That's the company formerly known as Woodshed, run by Elijah Wood and partners Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller. Best of all, John Landis of horror-comedy classic An American Werewolf in London is signed on as executive producer.Peep the awesome synopsis:Bad Vibes is set in the psychedelic rock scene of the late '60s, where Sunrise Majesty is at the top of the charts with their message of "free love" for all. But after an encounter with a strange groupie, bandleader and mastermind Max Cassidy is left with a gift that can't be cured with a shot of penicillin.

  • Crystal Fighters 'Wave' Charli XCX Twin Idol Stream

Charli XCX Converts Crystal Fighters' 'Wave' Into Neon Syrup

The last time we heard Charli XCX and production pal TWIN iDoL team up for a remix, they turned Lindstrøm's upbeat "Fāār-i-kāāl" into a snapping, swaggering pop shadow of its former self. (This was a good thing.) Now they've added their drippy, neon touch to a more obscure track: "Wave," by Crystal Fighters, the Spain via England folktronica quartet who specialize in a thing called Cave Rave. The occasion? After postponing her U.S. tour to travel with Paramore, Charli XCX has rescheduled her stateside dates. The True Romance star will be sharing bills with Ryan Hemsworth's pal LIZ (also a serious Backstreet Boys fan, it would seem) and synthpunk band Kitten (revisit "Like a Stranger). Most recently, Charli's songwriting chops as heard on Iconapop's "I Love It" landed her a spot contributing to the next Britney Spears record.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony return with a new friend and a new sound in the video for "100 Everything." Los Angeles rappa-sanga Ty Dolla $ign lends his Taylor Gang-approved coo to the hook, setting the tone for the five veteran Cleveland MCs.

Eminem's 'Berzerk' Is the New Sound of 'Saturday Night Football'

Eminem's "Berzerk" will be the new sound of Saturday Night Football on ABC. For those not in the know, that's the most watched series celebrating college-level pigskin on television.

  • Coldplay 'Atlas' 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Stream Soundtrack

Coldplay Return With Expansive 'Atlas' From 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire'

Coldplay have shared their first new song since 2011's Mylo Xyloto. As Consequence of Sound points out, this is also the London band's first original song for a film soundtrack, arriving in support of November 22's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Fittingly expansive "Atlas" finds Chris Martin cooing at the cosmos over a celestial backing of twinkling piano keys and creeping atmosphere. While the song does bust wide open around the two-and-a-half-minute mark, the shifts in mood are due mostly to the rock-solid vocal performance. It's MOR music, to be sure, but Coldplay imbue it with a certain heartfelt bigness that isn't to be overlooked. And the themes are just as large, of course. Appropos to all of it, the lyric video for "Atlas," seen above, revolves around galactic imagery, evoking constellations and the idea of a watchful eye in the sky as the song echoes forth.

  • Daedelus 'Music Concrete' Stream Anticon Drown Out

Daedelus Samples Skateboards on Glitch-Rave Gem 'Music Concrete'

Respected producer Daedelus is a nomad of sorts. Though Alfred Darlington calls Los Angeles home, he never lets his sound loaf and he's long been on a mission to plant an album at every independent label of note that loves electronic music as much as he does. That considered, it's surprising he's only just now making his Anticon Records debut. Drown Out is his 13th (or so) full-length effort, and it arrives September 17 preceded by "Music Concrete" below. Fittingly the song opens with sounds that seem sourced from non-musical surroundings: shuffling papers, perhaps, and clicking equipment that assume new form as the synths and sequences kick in.

  • Mount Kimbie King Krule DJ Oneman Jeremiah Jae

Mount Kimbie and King Krule Get Psych-Rap Makeover From Oneman and Jeremiah Jae

The high point of Mount Kimbie's latest post-dubstep masterwork Cold Spring Fault Less Youth is almost undoubtedly "You Took Your Time." That unusual slab of hip-hop-infused soul now gets reworked below by fellow Londoner DJ Oneman. His take starts out distant and hollow, with original guest King Krule's call seemingly echoing out from deep within a cave. But the simple beat soon hits and grants new context to the 6 Feet Beneath the Moon man's unusual swagger. Soon though, the stage is cleared for Brainfeeder MC Jeremiah Jae (recently heard in collaboration with rising rap powerhouse Jonwayne). His equally odd ruminations sound wonderfully warped over the nocturnal bubbling and slowed-up percussion. Take your time with this one.

  • Yuck New Order Age of Consent Cover Video

Watch Yuck Fuzz Up New Order's Classic 'Age of Consent'

London's Yuck release their second LP Glow & Behold in less than a month, but they've still got time for extracurriculars. The shoegaze fourpiece now follow album cuts "Middle Sea" and "Rebirth" with an impromptu cover of New Order's "Age of Consent," which appeared on the synthpop greats' 1983 album, Power, Corruption & Lies. Billed as an "improvised film experiment" by director Michael Lawrence and the band, the black-and-white clip features a single camera that's constantly on the move, weaving between members and encircling the group while new singer (old guitarist) Max Bloom shows off his chops. This leaner version of Yuck seems no worse for wear fuzzing up the classic track sans Daniel Blumberg, who, to be fair, is doing just fine on his own as well with Hebronix.

  • Jay Z Bodyguard Dead Taser Florida Police Safety

Bodyguard Linked to Jay Z Dead After Naked Tussle With Cops

A bodyguard who's reportedly provided security for Jay Z, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga died under bizarre circumstances shortly after Miami-Dade police used a Taser to subdue him. Huffington Post reports Norman Oosterbroek, 43, was discovered naked inside of the house of one of his Pinecrest neighbors around 10:45 p.m. on Monday. According to authorities, Christiane Jung heard noises in the house. A violent fight between the invader and her husband Markus followed. When police arrived, Oosterbroek allegedly physically resisted arrest. At some point he was seen ingesting an "unknown substance" which is thought to have been some sort of drug, although autopsy and toxicology reports are yet to be released. While tussling with cops, the reportedly 6-foot-10 man was Tased, then transported by Fire Rescue to a nearby hospital.
