  • Only Real 'Get It On' Video Days in the City EP

Only Real's Radiant Slack-Rap Is Contagious in 'Get It On' Video

Only Real is West Londoner Niall Gavin, a 22-year-old haze-pop purveyor with a knack for fuzzy guitar-play and bright, slackerly raps. You might think of him as the easy-breezy summer to King Krule's unending (and excellent) winter. Or you might just take the dude at face value — check him out in the "Get It On" video above. His affable youthfulness is contagious, and his knack at dominating this heretofore unexplored sound is undeniable.Somewhere in there is the indie dream of Slumberland, the wall-of-gaze of My Bloody Valentine, and the goopy posivibes rhymes of PM Dawn or Me Phi Me. As it turns out, Gavin's favorite rapper is J. Cole, as stated in multiple interviews. He also skates, makes music in his bedroom, and would "love to live by the beach in America" some day.

  • Charles Manson Bon Iver Justin Vernon Pandora Internet Radio Station

Charles Manson Was a Decent Musician, Not a Decent Human Being

Hey world, Charles Manson was into music, and he even made a good amount of the stuff. In the nascent days of that whole cult-building thing, he and a rotating cast of female hangers-on crashed for a few months at Dennis Wilson's Southern California home. The late Beach Boys brother even paid for Manson's studio time, so confident was he in the abilities of this unusual guru/con-man who'd come into his life.Manson was locked up (for good) before any of his music got distribution, but a label called ESP-Disk released a great deal of it, while an imprint called Magic Bullet has put out some material he's recorded behind bars.

  • All Tiny Creatures 'All Die Out' Mixtape Stream

Hear All Tiny Creatures' Beautifully Far-Out 'All Die Out' Mixtape

When three out of four members of this band aren't, you know, being Volcano Choir with Justin Vernon, they are All Tiny Creatures, a gang of psychedelia-oriented pop-explorers with an ear for soaring melodies. You'd think their schedule would be a bit packed at the moment — what with their own album Dark Clock out now (Hometapes) alongside a lovely new LP called Repave — but the quartet have found the time to create the original mixtape below as well. Like The Book Mixtape and A Lone Sound Mixtape before it, the All Die Out Mixtape borrows its title from a preexisting song whose origins and after-the-fact offshoots are explored therein. To clarify: Below you'll hear Dark Clock's "All Die Out" bookended by All Tiny Creatures music that either helped inspire or was inspired by the central tune.

  • Delorean Mexico Kidnapping Tour Reschedule Cancelled

Delorean Reschedule Tour in Light of Mexico Kidnapping Incident

Barcelona band Delorean have cancelled and rescheduled their entire North American tour after suffering a virtual kidnapping in Mexico City earlier this month. While the initial details were a bit muddled, the Spanish fourpiece eventually explained the circumstances via a Facebook post — though they made it out safely, their wallets are worse for wear and the players are undoubtedly shaken. In their own words, "The threat of death was real."Postponements followed, but now the whole set of October dates is being moved to the new year, kicking off on January 24 in Brooklyn and the Music Hall of Williamsburg, and wrapping up at Boston's Sinclair on February 23.

  • Drake Future Tour Kicked Off Opening Patched Up

  • Sky Ferreira Arrest Night Time My Throat Tour Nude Cover

Sky Ferreira Discusses Career and Controversy in Candid Interview

In a new thorough interview with Stereogum, Sky Ferreira discusses ... well, pretty much all of the things the Internet has been discussing about the rising star. There's her Vampire Weekend tour cancellation, the tastefully topless Night Time, My Time cover art, the struggle of facing first-album expectations and, of course, the drug arrest with DIIV's Zachary Cole Smith. Despite having a bumpy run of late, the 21-year-old singer and songwriter comes across as unguarded, self-assured, and wise beyond her years. The latter is true particularly in regard to response to the light controversy surrounding her album's Gaspar Noé-shot cover:"I think my label wanted ... well they sent me mockups of photos of a shoot I did two years ago. I had long blonde hair and I'm sitting on a bed looking cute ...

  • Prince Pajama Party Paisley Park Breakfast House Concert

Prince's Next House Show Is a Pajama Party, of Course

Prince has announced a second concert to be held at his Minneapolis-area home, Paisley Park, only this time it's a pajama party. Doors open at 2 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, and the show is set to run "till the sun comes up." Entry comes with a $50 donation, and guests have been asked to "dress 2 impress" and "keep it classy." We're not sure is the Purple One's steamy new video for "Breakfast Can Wait" would fit that last criteria, but we are pleased to learn this event has been dubbed "The Breakfast Experience Pajama Dance Party."Of course, we shouldn't be surprised — Prince has spent most of his career in PJs. We're only happy that he's inviting his fans in (literally) on the fun. While his October 5 Paisley Park gig spotlit his reunited band the New Power Generation, this particular party will be hosted by his fresh-faced, all-lady trio 3rdEyeGirl.

  • Miley Cyrus Bangers Wrecking Ball Billboard Chart

Who Charted? Miley Cyrus Charts All Over the World

First! Following a long campaign of shock and ... well, shock, former child actress Miley Cyrus launches her Bangerz onto the top of the heap — an accomplishment that isn't all that shocking, frankly. Look at that cynical title and tell us a million bros and babes weren't destined to buy the thing. Okay, 270,000 bros and babes according to Billboard, plus a handful of looky-loos and the occasional poptimist. Counting her work as Hannah Montana, this is Cyrus' fifth No. 1 album, though her last effort showed a loss of footing (dangerous whilst mid-twerk) — 2010's Can't Be Tamed started at No. 3 with 102K sold. A bit more shockingly, it turns out Miley is not a distinctly American phenomenon. Bangerz is No. 1 in the UK as well, though maybe just because the Brits thought it was sausage. To be fair, "Wrecking Ball" is the No. 1 single over there as well.

  • Flux Pavilion Freeway Tour Video Dillon Francis EP Episode

Watch Flux Pavilion Get Kicked Out of Walmart in Freeway Tour Video

English dubstep destroyer Flux Pavilion has earned a reputation for high-energy shows and hard-hitting dance music, each plenty evident in the clip above for "In the Beginning," the first of four episodes in a series documenting his current Freeway tour. What you might not have already known, however, is that the man born Joshua Steele has a helluva sense of humor. Accompanied by tour mates Brown + Gammon and Cookie Monsta, he demonstrates an incredible knack for improvising fake facts and, best of all, leads an ill-fated excursion into Walmart while expertly dressing the part (via "People of..."). Take all of that in above and check out Flux's upcoming tour dates below.
