  • Nicolas Cage Axl Rose Video Revolver Golden Gods Awards

Watch Nicolas Cage Lose It for Axl Rose

Fans of the man know that Nicolas Cage is prone to losing his shit, so what better mascot for Revolver's annual Golden Gods heavy metal awards ceremony? The Con Air star made a surprise appearance at the April 23 event, Wednesday night at Los Angeles' Club Nokia, in order to present Guns N' Roses leader Axl Rose with a lifetime achievement award. He arrives around the 3:05 mark in the clip below, though you may as well start from the beginning, since comic great (and animated hamster from that Cure-biting Sprint commercial) Andrew Dice Clay comes out first in order to intro the GNR video montage that intros Cage, who then intros Rose via a deliciously overacted speech. We'd love to see this plotted out on a richter scale: "His VOICE. His POETry. His COMPOsition. His piaNO PLAYing.

  • Antemasque '4AM' Video Snowboard Volcom Xgames Rehearsal

Watch Snowboarders Shred to Antemasque's '4AM'

In lieu of an official video from Antemasque, you can watch a bunch of badass young snowboarders doing their thing to the sound of these former Mars Volta men playing "4AM." Or, as the fellas themselves worded it on Twitter, see Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala "gettin' lil mutton busters all hell-fired up" for Volcom Stone's Peanut Butter and Rail Jam. The group, which also features drummer Dave Elitch and some contributions from bass god Flea, has been pretty generous since emerging from the ether earlier this month. We've seen a studio clip featuring the dulcet sounds of "Drown All Your Witches," and have been freely streaming their first four songs via Bandcamp. It also turns out they've got another connection to the work of extreme sports. Below, check out an X Games-premiered rehearsal video featuring Antemasque and a certain Red Hot Chili Pepper in action.

  • Baths 'Ocean Death' Stream EP Anticon

Stream Baths' Dark Dance Rumbler, 'Ocean Death'

Los Angeles singer/producer/composer Baths is dropping an unexpected EP May 6 on Anticon. Dubbed Ocean Death, the five-song set is billed by the label as "the Dia De Los Muertos to [2013 album] Obsidian's Halloween," and the title track can be hear below. Indeed, if Will Wiesenfeld's last LP was dark and sleek (check out the Moors remix of "Miasma Sky"), this one seems to brood a little deeper, preferring to creep in the shadows while a rattling four-four Four Tet-ish beat pounds away. At least, that's "Ocean Death," the song. Hit play to hear Wiesenfeld sing like an angel about being buried in a graveyard. Pitchfork premiered the song; check the tour dates here.

  • Stephen Colbert 'The Ballad of Cliven Bundy' Video Standoff

See Stephen Colbert Perform 'The Ballad of Cliven Bundy'

Once more, the Cliven Bundy standoff crosses over into our world. Earlier this week, progressive author and activist Sean Shealy launched a Facebook page for BundyFest!, a proposed music-playing and penis-erecting festival to take place on the government land across the way from that codgerly lovable cattle-rancher's home. Now Stephen Colbert, on The Colbert Report, has performed a song for the man facing off with the feds over whether or not his cows can eat their grass.Dubbed "The Ballad of Cliven Bundy," the ditty devoted to the Fox News-dubbed "savior" and "folk hero" starts at the 3:05 mark in the clip above, and finds our host aiming friendly fire at conservative pundit Sean Hannity in particular, while Strangers With Candy pal Geoffrey Jellineck (okay, Paul Dinello) adds some guitar flourishes.

  • Anthony Bourdain EDM Parts Unknown Video Vegas

Anthony Bourdain on EDM: 'Am I Too Old? Or Just Non-Douchey?'

Anthony Bourdain isn't known for pulling his punches, and the latest target of his mighty wit? EDM. The former SPIN contributor, Queens of the Stone Age fan, and celebrity chef has some strong, poetic words for electronic dance music in a new segment from his CNN series, Parts Unknown. "Are we just old? Or are we non-douchey?" he asks legendary magician Penn Jillette at one point in the Las Vegas-centered clip above before delivering the following masterful soliloquy:"Come ye lords and princelings of douchedom," he says over footage of raving-rich young adults wielding glow-sticks, wearing sunglasses indoors, waving their hands moonily, and otherwise basking in the humid, LED-lit air of an in-casino club. "Hear my clarion call. Anointeth thyself with gel and heavenly body spray. Maketh the sign of the devil horns with thine hands.

  • Marilyn Manson Salem Cupid Carries a Gun Credits Video

Marilyn Manson Debuts New Song in 'Salem' Title Credits

This past Sunday, WGN America premiered its new series Salem, which fictionalizes the 17th century witch trials closely associated with the colonial Massachusetts town of the same name. Now the network has let loose the show's opening titles, which feature — because duh — a brand new song by Marilyn Manson. The 45-year-old industrial-metal icon wrote the song with an assist from Salem's in-house composer Tyler Bates (Californication, Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects), as The Hollywood Reporter points out. Dubbed "Cupid Carries a Gun," the track features Manson's creepy rasp over a mix of percussion and acoustic guitar that could keep pace with "Beautiful People" (or, you know, "Black Skinhead")."The song 'Cupid Carries a Gun' was the last track we just finished for my new album," Manson told THR.

  • Bruce Springsteen Dolly Parton 'I'm on Fire' Sped Up

Bruce Springsteen's 'I'm on Fire' Sped Up Sounds Like Dolly Parton

There's a lot of ridiculous crap on the Internet that involves somehow mutilating the music we hold dear — speed-ups, slow-downs, mash-up, dubstep goats — but sometimes a netizen stumbles upon a secret portal of synchronicitous perfection, taking to a place where we're no longer sure what's virtual and what's reality. What we're trying to tell you is this: If you speed up Bruce Springsteen's 1985 single "I'm on Fire" to the proper degree, it sounds exactly as if Dolly Parton is the one singing the thing. Have your doubts? Go ahead. Hit the play-button below. Send your apologies to the comments section. Also, The A.V. Club dug up this "cover" version of Parton's "Jolene." And here she is rapping on the Queen Latifah Show. Sadly, that last one is unedited.

  • Jem Holograms the Movie Cast Aubrey Peeples

Meet the 'Jem and the Holograms' Movie Cast

Earlier today, Dum Dum Girls released their animated video for "Rimbaud Eyes," in which Dee Dee Penny and co. bore a striking resemblance to '80s cartoon synth-punks Jem and the Holograms. Well, in our fantasy world, that move forced the hand of the well-moneyed minds behind the forthcoming Jem live-action film, because now we know for certain that the Hasbro-created fake band will not in fact be played by a garage-born real band. The four principal actresses have been named.Jem — street name Jerrica Benton — will be played by Nashville star Aubrey Peeples (also: Grey's Anatomy, Necessary Roughness). Her keytar-wielding sister Kimber will come courtesy of Stefanie Scott (Disney's A.N.T. Farm). The role of purple-haired guitarist Shana goes to Aurora Perrineau of Pretty Little Liars. And the blue-haired guitarist Aja will be Hayley Kiyoko (The Fosters).
