  • Flux Pavilion Freeway Tour Video Dillon Francis EP Episode

Watch Flux Pavilion Get Kicked Out of Walmart in Freeway Tour Video

English dubstep destroyer Flux Pavilion has earned a reputation for high-energy shows and hard-hitting dance music, each plenty evident in the clip above for "In the Beginning," the first of four episodes in a series documenting his current Freeway tour. What you might not have already known, however, is that the man born Joshua Steele has a helluva sense of humor. Accompanied by tour mates Brown + Gammon and Cookie Monsta, he demonstrates an incredible knack for improvising fake facts and, best of all, leads an ill-fated excursion into Walmart while expertly dressing the part (via "People of..."). Take all of that in above and check out Flux's upcoming tour dates below.

  • Hejira 'Pinter' Stream

Hear Hejira's Symphonic Art-Rock Salvo 'Pinter'

It seems impossible to imagine another band having Hejira's sound, but when you consider the London quartet's collective history, you better understand what makes them tick. Players Sam Beste, Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne, Alexis Nunez, and Alex Reeve boast incredible backgrounds, with ties to Chile, Hungary, Ethiopia, and Germany, and the list of projects they've contributed to is even more diverse: Tom Jones, Amy Winehouse, Nitin Sawhney, psych-pop oddball Connan Mockasin, and rap beat rule-breaker Eric Lau. Add to all of that the fact that their forthcoming album, Prayer Before Birth, was produced by electronic music iconoclast Matthew Herbert and, well, you get a thing like "Pinter."Streaming below, the song combines elements of prog and post-punk with ambient and jazz, landing at something symphonic in texture and scope.

  • Kendrick Lamar Flying Lotus Yeezus Tour Kanye West

Flying Lotus Is Working With Kendrick Lamar on the 'Yeezus' Tour

As if we needed another reason to scramble for tickets to the forthcoming Yeezus tour starring Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar — now Flying Lotus confirms he is somehow involved. The Grand Theft Auto V DJ, cartoon rap villain (see Captain Murphy), and incredibly versatile producer hopped onto Twitter Monday (October 14) to share, "Been helpin out w the new @kendricklamar show for the yeezus tour. It's gonna b so amazing."Been helpin out w the new @kendricklamar show for the yeezus tour. It's gonna b so amazing.— FLYLO FM (@flyinglotus) October 14, 2013SPIN reached out to the man born Steven Ellison for comment, but he can't clarify further for the time being. As a multimedia artist, Lotus has multiple potential angles in on the experience.

  • Yelawolf Paul Wall Hustle Video Trunk Music Returns

See Yelawolf and Paul Wall Expose Two Sides of the 'Hustle'

Yelawolf is slowly making his way back in from the crossover rap wilderness, as noted upon the arrival of "Box Chevy Part 4," an early offering from his out-now Trunk Muzik Returns mixtape. The Paul Wall-featuring "Hustle" is another highlight from that set, which finds the slept-on featured guest bragging about his titular pursuit with much aplomb. For instance, the line: "Riding dirty, ain't no hobo / It's just me, strapped up like a GoPro." Meanwhile, in the Complex clip above, highly customized cars and highly customized cornrows abound. Then in comes Yela, setting himself up with a melodic fast-rap hook that plays off of Wall's slow slur.

  • Arcade Fire Reflektor Lyrics Reflektors Shows CMJ

Arcade Fire Book Shows as the Reflektors, Share Lengthy Lyrics

Arcade Fire are playing a handful of under-promoted shows under the name the Reflektors. The first two are October 18 and 19 at a Brooklyn location purported to be 299 Meserole St. — an intimate art space. Speculation initially began when flyers began popping up around New York seemingly in conjunction with the CMJ music conference. A note on the ad for "the Reflektors" read, "Formal attire or costume mandatory." Those shows were confirmed, along with two others, to fans who pre-ordered the band's fourth album Reflektor, out October 29 via Merge. Revisit the video for the title track to get a taste. In an email to those early-bird customers, the band included links and codes for presale tickets to the aforementioned gigs, along with two in Miami: October 23 at Mekka Nightclub and October 24 at the Little Haiti Cultural Center.

  • Record Store Day Back to Black Friday Baroness Poster

Baroness Singer Makes Wicked Poster for Record Store Day's Black Friday Event

The folks behind Record Store Day are gearing up for a major rollout of exclusive vinyl goodies on November 29, the biggest shopping day of the year. Dubbed Back to Black Friday, the annual vinyl-celebrating event aims to spread some of the major sales love to independent music hubs by offering rarities that can't be purchased anywhere else (except for on eBay, later, at a fantastic mark-up).Though RSD has yet to announce the lineup for this year's goodies, they've shared the positively badass poster for BTBF 2013. The image comes courtesy of Baroness frontman John Dyer Baizley, an established artist whose created not only the album art and tour bills for his own band, but for others as well, often in conjunction with the Minneapolis-based design house Burlesque of North America. "I'm a lifetime record collector and music fan," said Baizley via statement.

  • Snoop Dogg 7 Days of Dam-Funk Faden Away Snoopzilla

Snoop Dogg Goes Indie With Dam-Funk on 'Faden Away'

West Coast gangsta godfather Snoop Dogg and Los Angeles groove merchant Dâm-Funk have teamed up for an entire album on revered indie-rap hub Stones Throw Records. Together the two are going by 7 Days of Funk, although Calvin Broadus has renamed himself Snoopzilla (in honor of Bootsy Collins) for the occasion. The news comes with the duo's debut single, "Faden Away," streaming below. The track features Dâm's typically freewheeling keyboard runs and snapping percussion, while Snoop sings spacily and raps a few G-wheeling bars to boot.Said Snoop via the label: "We're the babies of the Mothership. I've had funk influences in my music my whole career. Dâm-Funk is cold. He's keeping the funk alive and I knew I had to get down with him." Mr. Funk chimed in too: "Snoop knew what I was thinking without me having to articulate it...

  • Angel Haze Kanye West Black Skinhead Cover Remix

Angel Haze Spits Fire Over Kanye West's 'Black Skinhead'

Angel Haze has added to her Kanye covers repertoire, taking on "Black Skinhead" as part of her new #30GOLD campaign leading up to the January release of Dirty Gold. In late July, she released her very own version of Yeezus standout "New Slaves," but that was just for kicks, apparently. In the video above, she tosses out the gauntlet — "I'm fucking up all your favorite rappers," with a smile, no less — before matching the energy of West's hugely percussive track. She mostly attacks potential competitors and big-ups her own abilities, shouting out "Versace" along the way (she also released a freestyle over the Migos track three months ago).Watch above or stream below. As far as original material, Haze recently shared the video for "Echelon (My Way)."

  • Son Lux 'Easy' Busdriver Stream Remix Lanterns

Son Lux and Busdriver Deliver Stirring Electronic Soul on 'Easy' Remix

With his third album, Lanterns, composer and sound design whiz Son Lux truly comes into his own. His first two sets were impressive but arguably colder in tone and headier in vibe. The October 29 album, however, carves out a space located snugly between body and brain, where warm instrumentation smacks into chilly waves of sub-bass, and choral vocals are recast in futuristic soundscapes.Part of that comes from the incredible array of contributors mastermind Ryan Lott has at his disposal: members of the Antlers, the Punch Brothers, Gem Club, and Mutemath, not to mention DM Stith and the yMusic Ensemble (Dirty Projectors, Bon Iver). Now he adds another name to the estimable list thanks to the remix below.
