WATCH: Angels & Airwaves Preview New Album, Film

Tom DeLonge may be on tour with Blink-182, but that hasn't stopped him from pursuing slightly loftier ambitions with his other band, the conceptual prog-rock outfit Angels & Airwaves. On Valentine's Day 2010, the band will release their third full-length album, Love, for free (yes, that's right, free), along with an accompanying film of the same name. In a trailer released Friday (watch below), DeLonge speaks about his visions for the project. "I want to change how music is made. I want to change how music is marketed. I want to change how music is delivered.

Dan Deacon, Deerhunter, No Age Kick Off Round Robin Tour

As Dan Deacon, Deerhunter, and No Age stepped onstage for the first of two round robin sets at New York City's Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday night, one reverent concertgoer summed it up best. "Oh, man," she said to a friend. "It's like they're three gods, combining as one impenetrable force." They were really more like seven gods -- eight if you count Deacon's light-up green skull -- but she was right on target with the "impenetrable force" part.

    SPIN.com's Terrific Twitter Trio

Lots of musicians tweet -- but all that Twitters is not gold. That's why you'll want to check out SPIN.com every Friday to see whose tweets we're reading this week -- then update your TweetDeck! (Obligatory Self-Promotion: ...while you're at it, be sure to follow @SPINmagazine!) This week's winners: Who: Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) Why You Should Follow: Pop's wacky, bewigged, couture-wearing princess doesn't tweet often, but when she does, it's a treat. She uses her 140-character allotments to wax poetic about dancing in Ibiza, narrowly escaping prison in Russia, and indulging in coffee and cigarettes in Paris. She also discusses "playing with the wild things," bleaching her hair, sipping on whiskey before shows, and wearing black on the outside because it's how she feels on the inside.

Eminem Slams Mariah Carey in New Dis Track

The feud brewing between Eminem and Mariah Carey (and her husband, Nick Cannon) doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon. The Detroit rapper just released a new dis track, "The Warning," in response to Carey's video for the song "Obsessed," in which she dressed up as an Eminem look-alike and sang, "Why are you so obsessed with me?" Though she later denied that the song had anything to do with Eminem, many believed it was a response to the Eminem track "Bagpipes from Baghdad," off his latest album, Relapse, in which he raps about stealing Carey away from Cannon. Carey has long refuted Eminem's claim that the two dated for six months in 2001, but the pop diva might not be able to keep up her denials for much longer. On "The Warning," Eminem threatens to release evidence that the two were once a couple. "Oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee?

Green Day, Pink to Perform at 2009 MTV VMAs

Green Day and Pink have been added to the list of performers at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, joining country star Taylor Swift and British rock band Muse. The show, which airs live from New York City's Radio City Music Hall on September 13, will also feature appearances by Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, and Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, who have all signed on to present awards. Green Day, who performed at the VMAs in 1994, 1995 (via satellite), and 2005, said they're excited to return to the show and play a song off their latest album, 21st Century Breakdown. "You never know what's going to happen, and it's always a memorable experience for us," frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told MTV.com. Pink, who performed her hit song "So What" at last year's VMAs, said she's also looking forward to being a part of the show again.

Panic! at the Disco Reveal New Members

Just days after releasing their first song since Ryan Ross and Jon Walker left the band, Panic! at the Disco's Spencer Smith and Brendon Urie have announced who will fill Ross and Walker's shoes on their upcoming tour with Blink-182. Smith told MTV.com that -- for the time being, at least -- Ian Crawford of the Cab will replace Ross on guitar, and Dallon Weekes of the Brobecks will replace Walker on bass. "They're friends, so the decision was easy," he said. "Plus, we're really excited to play with them as musicians. Ian is probably the most talented guitar player that me and Brendon have ever played with, and Dallon is a really nice guy and a really great bassist. It's new. We're really excited." On Tuesday -- in machine-like synchronization -- Panic!

Listen: Scarlett Johansson Duets with Pete Yorn

Safe to say: Pete Yorn has a soft spot for milky, busty actresses. Turns out, his new album of duets with Iron Man 2's Scarlett Johansson, Break Up, was inspired by '60s French sextress Brigitte Bardot. "After I kind of dozed off one afternoon for a few minutes, I just woke up and my heart was racing and I had this thing in my head ... 'I have to do a duets album, a guy-girl album,'" Yorn told Billboard.com. "I was really into Bonnie and Clyde at the time, by Serge and Brigitte, and I thought, 'Brigitte ... Scarlett! She's Brigitte!' It was a really manic thought pattern that was going on. Within 10 minutes, I was texting Scarlett, 'We have to make a record!'" And make a record they did. Break Up, due September 15, was recorded in February of 2007 in producer Sunny Levine's garage studio in Los Angeles.

Panic at the Disco's Brendan Urie and Spencer Smith -- and departed members Ryan Ross and Jon Walker -- have wasted no time moving on from the band's recent schism. Today, Panic at the Disco posted a new song, the aptly-titled "New Perspective," to their MySpace page. The track, which frontman Urie performed during a recent solo acoustic show at San Diego's Comic-Con, is the band's first release since Ross and Walker left the Las Vegas-based emo-pop act. It will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming Diablo Cody-penned, Megan Fox-starring horror-comedy Jennifer's Body. Check it out here! Meanwhile, Ross and Walker debuted their new band, the Young Veins, on MySpace today, releasing their first track, the '60s pop-influenced "Change." Check it out here! A few weeks ago, Ross told MTV News that creative differences were the main reason for his and Walker's departure.

Green Day Musical Could Hit Silver Screen

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has big plans for the band's upcoming American Idiot musical. The production, based on the Bay Area punks' 2004 concept album of the same name, will premiere at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in California in September. But Armstrong hopes that the musical will eventually hit the silver screen, too -- just like a certain campy cult classic. "I thought American Idiot had a lot in common with something like Rocky Horror Picture Show," Armstrong told the Associated Press.
