songwriter. freelance writer. part-time publicist. wifey. mama. bag hag. country bumpkin. the only black gurl. the real deal. 4Her. ballet dancer. brownie. band nerd. dj. protester. observer. like any of my writing, music is another way i can communicate and further evaluate. i don’t like music that is too high brow. i also don’t like music that insults peoples’ intelligence. i’m not trying to analyze or save the world when i dance. escapism is needed. i believe there is such thing as thoughtprovoking music that you can dance to. it exists.country girls rock. most rockstars are former band nerds. music shouldn't be exclusive and shouldn't insult my intelligence. I love how DC is very cultural yet very segregated and too political. I love the parks. I hate that all the indie clubs and theatres have to close down to make way for over the top hotels and 5 star restaurants. I love the music scene here but i hate that the world doesn't recognize it.
