Vice Cooler Turns Peaches Into a Werewolf for ‘Lost in a Dream’

Vice Cooler Peaches Lost in a Dream Video

SPIN first met Vice Cooler as lead screamer in punk crew XBXRX, and then again under his lo-fi rap guise Hawnay Toof, but the multifaceted Los Angeles resident has kept relatively clear of the spotlight since, instead lending his talent to directing videos for Feistodon, Two Gallants, La Sera, and Peaches. The latter stars in his latest video, which happens to be for Cooler’s own song “Lost in a Dream” — the first glimpse of his Lost in a Dream EP, a pop project made with help from John Dieterich (Deerhoof), Isaiah “Ikey” Owens (the Mars Volta, Jack White), and Brad Breeck (the Mae Shi). The new clip arrives just in time for Halloween and finds Cooler and Peaches seeking assistance in the wrong neck of the woods. Zombies, mummies, and all kinds of creeps come out before the final scene — a Thriller-like dance attack led by the now (once again) hirsute Peaches. The November 14 EP will yield two more videos, for the songs “Can’t Stop” and “Come On,” which will complete the three-part mini-movie started here.
