The 20th anniversary edition of the annual Rock for Kids Rock & Roll Charity Auction (set to take place December 5 at Chicago's Park West) has amassed an unbelievable list of participants who have pledged to donate goods to raise funds for the city's homeless and underprivileged youth.

It was a night of extremes at Harlem's Apollo Theater Saturday, as alt-country darling Jenny Lewis and potty-mouthed comedienne Sarah Silverman shared the stage. The indie rock and comic elite (including Interpol's Carlos D and Stella actor Michael Showalter) came out for the mix of devilish humor, transcendent harmonies, and, you know, the occasional metal cover.

Hot on the heels of SPIN.com's announcement that Jenny Lewis was planning her second solo effort, Rilo Kiley bassist Pierre de Reeder has announced his own intentions to drop The Way That it Was on Aug. 12 through Little Record Company.

After wearing a particularly well-fitting Rabbit Fur Coat with folk duo the Watson Twins, Rilo Kiley siren -- and former Spin cover girl -- Jenny Lewis is readying her sophomore solo effort, Acid Tongue, for a September release on Warner Bros.
