Pharrell Is Up All Day to Get ‘Happy’ in Star-Studded, 24-Hour Video

Pharrell is capping off his stellar 2013 by making history: the “Get Lucky” and “Blurred Lines” co-star has just dropped what’s being described as “the world’s first 24-hour music video.” The ambitious project serves as a visual companion to “Happy,” Pharrell’s clap-heavy contribution to the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. Anyone with a whole day to waste watching other people dance, shimmy, swivel their hips, and just generally have a lot of fun can check out an interactive version of the video by heading to 24hoursofhappy.com. If you’ve only got four hours to kill, watch the footage above (via Consequence of Sound).

We Are From L.A. are credited with the concept and direction for “Happy.” The piece focuses largely on unknown faces, but does feature appearances from Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Jimmy Kimmel, Jamie Foxx, Steve Carell, Magic Johnson, and more, including, of course, Pharrell Williams. Go ahead, press play and lose yourself to dance.
