NIN, Avenged Sevenfold Headline Miami Fest

Since Miami is the southern gateway to the US, it makes sense that the Florida city would host a music festival called Global Gathering. On March 18, Nine Inch Nails and Rob Zombie, and Avenged Sevenfold are among the acts performing at the 2006 Global Gathering — an international festival that is making its first appearance on U.S. shores. Global Gathering hopes to bring together not only disparate nations, but also disparate genres of music: In Miami the event focuses on both rock and electronic music. Global Gathering boasts such electronica heavyweights as Sasha and Digweed, Armin Van Buren, and Roger Sanchez. The Crystal Method and Tommy Lee will both be DJing at various junctures throughout the event. Van Buren, Sasha, and John Digweed all performed at last year’s Global Gathering in the U.K., but the 2005 event was strictly dance-oriented. Tickets for Global Gathering start at $55 a pop for general admission, but super secret VIP admission that includes access to hammocks, tiki torches, and booze. Sounds like the full Miami experience to us.
