Watch Stiff White People Rap Nick Catchdubs’ New Single ‘The Bizness’

Nick Catchdubs bizness video

Jash is a Youtube channel created by comedians Michael Cera, Tim & Eric, Sarah Silverman, and Reggie Watts. They have a series in which they give $5,000 to an artist to create a music video, with the first one resulting in Chance the Rapper and Hannibal Buress’ “NaNa.” Now comes the second, featuring DJ and Fool’s Gold head Nick Catchdubs, whose new single “The Bizness” sports verses from Oakland-area MCs Jay Ant and Iamsu! The premise of the video, directed by Scott Jacobson, is simple: grown white people working in a soulless fluorescent-lit office lip-sync the occasionally vulgar rhymes. The song itself is likewise simple, but a bit more enjoyable: the two rappers talk shit over a bleepy beat with a pronounced 8-bit vibe in the tradition of spare California rap from hyphy to jerk to, most recently, ratchet.

Catchdubs’ upcoming album Smoke Machine is set to be released sometime this year. Su — or, if you prefer, Suzy — recently released the deluxe edition of his mixtape Kilt II, which includes the SPIN-premiered track “Designer.”
