Lil Snupe Murder Suspect Accused of Killing Rapper Over a Video Game

Lil Snupe

Police have named a suspect in rapper Lil Snupe’s killing last week, now confirmed to have been a shooting. Born Addarren Ross, the 18-year-old Louisiana MC was signed to Meek Mill’s Dream Chasers label. On Friday, a lead investigator with the Winnfield, Louisiana, police told local KNOE 8 News their suspect is a 36-year-old man named Tony Holden. Lieutenant Charles Curry reportedly said the shooting came about during an “altercation” as a result of “betting on video games.” The dispute allegedly took place at Holden’s apartment, where the window has a bullet hole. A neighbor, who told KNOE he was sleeping during the gun shots, said of the fight, “It just got out of hand, that’s all I know.”

Meek Mill has posted a poignant tribute to his young protégé. Credited to Lil Snupe and featuring a verse from Meek Mill, the “Nobody” clip includes candid footage of the late rapper. “May you rest in peace,” text reads. “Forever a Dreamchaser.” Sampling the sweltering G-funk of Nate Dogg and Warren G’s “Nobody Does It Better,” the track finds Lil Snupe all too prophetically rhyming about haters who want to kill him. The video fades out during Lil Snupe’s most tragic line from the song, which originally surfaced online a few months ago: “And I refuse to let my mama lose me to some bullshit.”
