Joseph Arthur to Launch Two Albums with ‘Astronomical’ Band

Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur, who recently worked on a charity single with Michael Stipe (“In the Sun”), will release two albums this year as Joseph Arthur and the Lonely Astronauts. Arthur and the freshly added backing band, composed of keyboardist Kraig Jarret Jonson (Golden Smog, the Jayhawks), guitarist Jennifer Turner (Fur Slide, Natalie Merchant), drummer Greg Wieczorek (Twilight Singers, the Honorary Title), and bassist Sibyl Buck (Champion of Sound, Milk 4 Cats), will drop the first album, Let’s Just Be, April 17 on Lonely Astronaut Records. As the follow-up to 2006’s highly acclaimed Nuclear Daydream, Let’s Just Be was birthed during an intense recording bout in which 80 songs were reportedly recorded. The second album, whose release dates has yet to be confirmed, will draw from the same batch of tunes.
