Gym Class Heroes Add ‘Cupid’ to Sophomore Album

New York emo-rappers Gym Class Heroes are adding an extra song to As Cruel As School Children, their sophomore full-length that will be re-released with “Cupid’s Chokehold” next month. A slightly reworked version of the track, which was originally featured on the band’s debut album The Papercut Chronicles is being added since, as emcee Travis McCoy tells SPIN.com, “a few radio stations started playing the track this summer and the phones went off the hook.” The song features guest vocals from Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and samples from Supertramp’s “Breakfast In America,” turning the classic into an endearing, spot-on ode to adolescent love: “We even got a secret handshake / And she loves the music that my band makes / I know I’m young, but if I had to choose her or the sun / I’d be one nocturnal son of a gun.”
