Adele’s Grammys Soy-Bomber Was Once Pimp-Slapped by Will Smith

Adele Grammys 2013 Soy Bomb Ukrainian Journalist

At the Grammys on Sunday night, a man who didn’t even have a ticket to be at the ceremony nearly managed to accept an award on Adele’s behalf. He’s since been revealed to be 24-year-old Ukrainian TV personality Vitalii Sediuk — the same goofy dude who got pimp-slapped by Will Smith after attempting to kiss the Men in Black III star at a May Moscow premiere. He spent a night in jail after soy-bombing the awards show stage.

It was easy to miss Sediuk’s cameo, and many who caught the act assumed he was just a random fan. In the video clip below, Jennifer Lopez is set to hand Adele the trophy for best pop solo performance when the interloper arrives. “It’s such an honor to receive this award,” he says as the actual winner approaches with a baffled look on her face. “I love you, Adele. You are my inspiration.” Then Lopez awesomely tells him to GTFO.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Sediuk explains how it all happened, and also that, “I’m not a crazy guy. I just think differently … My purpose is to entertain and to show a different emotion of celebrities.” His television channel was never credentialed, so he decided to show up with “friends who had tickets. [Security] didn’t check how many we had, so I was let in.” He even made it onto the red carpet.

“First I went to the media line and interviewed quite a few celebrities, like Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Kidman,” he continues. “Then I just followed one girl in a green dress through the [Staples Center] gates. They checked my pockets but never asked to see a ticket. Only once I was inside the building did I realize, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s Katy Perry!'” Inside, he stole Adam Levine’s seat, making the insufferable SNL host sit on the floor.

Since Sediuk had scammed his way to the second row — despite heightened security as a result of Los Angeles’ cop-killing cop Christopher Dorner — he figured why not try for the stage. He was ultimately charged with trespassing (though, really, with embarrassing everyone involved and shaming a member of Maroon 5) and questioned about his methods of infiltration, which amounted to just, you know, walking in.

So, points to him, and to J-Lo for being adept on the fly while Pitbull failed to guard shit.
